Local bowling center...very large one and very busy... is known for league bowling, fundraising and birthday parties. every Thurs., Fri. & Sat. night they have "cosmic bowling"...the regular lights go off and the black lights go on. Think of how cool neon face paint would look. I talked to the manager today and felt like a fool. My tongue got all caught up in knots and I didn't market the idea very well to her. I did find out that the cosmic bowling is for adults and I told her that adults having fun would enjoy the cool neon paint in the black lights, too. She said she would bring it up with "them" (I assume she meant the owners) and she would call me if they wanted my services. I suck at marketing myself, although I can be successful at it. I just never have a professional enough speech and even if I do, it seems like garbbley-gook comes out of my mouth instead of what I rehearsed. This is weird. I am 50 years old.
Anyone have any ideas how I can approach this again with the manager without making a pest of myself and convince her it's at least worth a try? confused

Paint yourself up with neons, and go in during cosmic bowling as an example (to talk to them again).

Well, I guess I'm not as bad at it as I thought. I just got a call from the coordinator of the Fall Harvest at a local private school. I called them yesterday to try and talk them into absolutely needing me.... and it worked. He said they would love to have me for the two day gig and I can charge per face. There is a carnival, too so the parents will have all that money in their pockets that they practically give away freely to the carnie games. clown

Good for you. If you are doing anything with schools, I would print up some flyers or business cards that offer some sort of promotion or discount. I have a few different sets of business cards. I get more responses from the one that has all my info on one side and a discount coupon on the other.
Good luck with the bowling. I agree with Noella. Until they see how cool it is in person, they might not understand the concept.
