Re: another one-stroke empty container idea :)
The Altoids smalls container has little itty bitty holes where the hinges are...so I don't think they'd work that well. But the sliding lid ones ROCK!
Help!
Oh wow. I'm going to be making my own one stroke cakes when my diamond fx paint arrives, I'm so glad I just found this idea of yours,
've tried to look up so many things, after seeing this post, such as "pin boxes".. or "small transparent containers", but I can't find these anywhere, could you help? Do you know of anywhere online where I could possibly find these?
I am from the UK, I will go shopping on Saturday and see if I can find anything!!
Please help!! <3 I'm 18 and I've only been doing facepainting for less than a year! x

Re: another one-stroke empty container idea :)
yay - this thread has officially saved my kit! I'm a sewer and crafter so I have oodles of those boxes and to think I never even gave them a second glance! I've also tossed soo many in the trash!!!
My kit right now is consisting of mostly smaller square boxes that I found at michaels in the beading section. They are 1.5 inches square. I find that I mostly like to use the one stroke brush as opposed to a sponge anyway so I invested a bit in a nice, large 1.5 inch flat brush (also have a 1 inch and 1/2 inch for smaller stuff). BUT I found that I can also squeeze my sponges together and make them fit into my smaller boxes. When they stretch back out they are still loaded with plenty of paint. Thought I was going to be making duplicate cakes - a big rainbow I can use with the sponge. I still might for ease but for now I really don't think I need to at least until I get a better technique with the sponges.
Another thought - you know those boxes you get paper clips and push pins from the office supply store? Same as the sewing pins! So if you need some office supplies too...

Re: another one-stroke empty container idea :)
I found some great pin boxes at Michael's that I used for my homemade rainbow cake, but any sewing or craft shop or even dollar store should have little boxes of pins.

Ooh I love the curvy look of that, Perry!
I found a bead storage container on Kijiji (I know, I know) that I might go look at today. I got the TAG case but everything flies around in there so I'm probably going to re-pot everything into the little compartments like I saw some artists on here do. For $2 I'm willing to try it lol

Joann's has pin boxes a in set of three that are connected each with their own lid. I used mine for sorting gems. ( I gave the pins to the cashier ) I also was able to find at hobby lobby 2x2 acrylic square containers that will hold a full 45g of paint. They had smaller rectangles for possibly 2 color one strokes.
Re: another one-stroke empty container idea :)
For all the Aussies out there I found these pill boxes at The Reject Shop. $2 will get you a set of seven. I then cut out the dividers to get a large box or leave them to get smaller one strokes.
Re: another one-stroke empty container idea :)
Any problems with the plastic pin boxes reacting to the paint?
