I was approached by a local photographer who wants to broaden her portfolio. She wants baby bellies and shots like this:

I wanted to see if anyone has done these before? this is so cute! Im not sure what to do about prices, I figured Id just roll with it. It might be a good idea to pair up with a photographer, right? anyone else think about it?

It's a great idea to pair up with a photographer- that you LIKE. Pro shots should make your work look better, so make sure you like their photography fist. Also, make sure you are on the same page as to what can and can not be done with the images. Ask about how or if they mark their images- you probably don't want to have another persons watermark across your painted belly if you want to use it in a brochure! Also make sure it is OK to do basic formatting edits to the images- crop, flip, skew... these are all things that may need to be done to make them fit on a printed advertisement.

As far as prices, that depends. Are Professional images of your work good enough payment? If it's something you would be painting anyway I would say just make the even trade. If the photographer is requesting specific designs then I would consider her having to pay at least a materials cost plus usable images.

And, if you wind up not being in love with this photographer- you might be surprised how many more there are eager to work with you.
