A newbie from South Carolina ... Hiya!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad to have found these boards and be introducing myself!

My name's Tessie and I'm a mom and a Teen Assistant at the local library. I've always had a passion for arts and have always searched for different artistic outlets. I've been doing henna as a hobby for years, and always doodling on myself and fascinated by body art, but I never really considered face painting until I helped with crowd control at a library event. I watched the amazement of kids as they got their faces painted and how much fun the face painters had with their craft, and I really wanted to.

I'm looking for a way to pull in a little extra income and find a way to channel my creative energies, so this seems like a natural progression. I recently bought some of those Snazaroo party kits, just to see if I'd like it or had a shot at being ant good, and I really love it so far!

I've been lurking for about a week or so, and all the information and conversations on here are so helpful and encouraging! I can't remember the last time I felt this good about a new adventure.

Oh, a little about myself: two cats, one two-year-old, one husband. Favorite band: Gomez or Sufjan Stevens (toss-up). Favorite TV show: Parks and Recreation. Favorite season: Autumn.

Hi! I grew up in Greenville and live in Spartanburg now ... so cool to see another South Carolinian on here. I just looked at your website--you're great! May I ask how long you've been painting faces?

I started at the end of April. My daughter wanted face painting at her party, and at the time, I couldn't afford it. So I bought some snaz and learned how to paint. Totally fell in love with it, and haven't been able to stop since!

Maybe we could get together and paint sometime? I actually work off 85 at Pelham. . .so Spartanburg wouldnt' be too far! Let me know, I would love to have someone to talk shop with!
