Heard back from the hockey taem !!!!

I got a reply e-mail today about painting for the hockey team - Here it is -

I shared this with our ownership and typically if we have any outside vendors come in like this and sell their product or service to our fans there is a $500 tabling fee to provide you with the space on the concourse. We would be willing to waive that fee if you would be interested in splitting what you bring in each night 70/30. 70% would go to you and 30% would come back to the RoughRiders.

I was contacted by our local AJHL team... they wanted me to do a straight PPF at one of their exhibition games (I think it was a fundraiser)... I don't do PPF so didn't take them up on it.

I agree w/ Suzy, but only do it on a trial basis & see if you need to tweak the agreement or if it's not working & you want to get out of it completely.

Thanks everyone! I am feeling pretty down right now , after sending the e-mail asking for the material fee I found out that the tabling fee of $500 is per game not for the season . So I sent another e-mail w/ an extra thank you for working w/ me and made the mistake of giving too much info w/ not much info but mentioning my family's fainancial strain,and that I need the $50 material fee and then the 70/30 would be good. Heard back this morning and now they are at 50/50. what the hell ! I am not going to go there every week feeling resentment towards them for taking half my money! I am thinking $20 material fee and 70/30 or just the 70/30 take it or leave it ???????????????/

Do the maths and work out which (if either) option is acceptable to you..

x faces per hour @ $y per face =
divided by 2=
times ? hours =
(plus $50 material fee)

or
x faces per hour @ $y per face=
times .70 =
times ? hours =
(no material fee)

I'm no math wizz so excuse my non-traditional calculation method!

I'd stick to the original offer. Personally. You will devalue yourself. You are a draw and added value to their program. 50/50 is ridiculous, unless they want to pay for half your kit, half your insurance, half your gas, half your babysitting etc. It costs you money to work....
Keep personal info and emotion out of it. Just business facts (I have trouble wit this as well LOL)

Also, do the math is a good idea. A hockey game is generally 2-3 hours. You will paint for an hour before hand, and then during the 1st and second intersmission which is 20 minutes....after that, everyone heads home. At least here they do... so AT BEST, at 15 faces an hour...you are likely looking at 25-30 faces.

Are these games during *peak* hours? Would you be losing potential work because of this?
