GST??? A Q for the Aussie painters please
Okay, I have my first corporate/retail gig coming up in about 10 days.
I have prepared a contract agreement and invoice (took me a while, but it's done and now I have a good template).
Anyway, now I'm not sure about whether or not to include GST (ie additional to my quote), or just absorb it as one of my costs. I assume it has to be in there. If you're an Aussie, can you shed any light on it before I email the client the invoice? What do you do?
Many thanks in advance
Kate

You only need to charge and itemise GST if your business is registered for GST. To find out if you need to be registered I assume the requirements would be listed on the ato website. From memory it's only necessary if you turn over $75,000 a year or something like that.

Thanks Justine. Very helpful. Wouldn't it be nice to turn over $75k in one year?
