Aussie painters we need you. Online Australian comp

Aussie painters especially NSW I say that as thats where I am from, (shamless state self promotion there LOL) we need you for an Australian only online comp.(sorry anyone from from overseas)

Ok, For those who don’t know The Australian body art awards is happening in April. And there is an Online comp open to Australians of each state territory…there are lots of prizes, including raffles, Overall winner, winner from States etc, but there is a bit of a catch.

In that we need a certain amount of people from each state to enter. As part of the reason that they have set the numbers higher is… So that we can encourage each other and pull together.

I don’t think any state has met the Quota at the moment I think NT/QLD and Tas are the closest but I am her to speak plead for NSW there are 3 up right now .Including my drunken painty bender, that I did – long story and its unfinished but I posted it anyway. To support others. And the raffle prize which has now been increased to a free convention ticket for this year, or next if you cannot make it.

Now at this convention for those who don’t know Dutch Bihary is teaching and there – and can I add he is one of the most mind blowing instructors ever (I took his class last year) Also Yolanda Bartrum whos class I have never taken but shes awesome I here from others who have.

I say this to help motivate you...

If No other reason can be thought of ...do it for the raffle the numbers are low, the deadline has been extended, In NSW I know of about 5 more people entering. We are in it for the raffle, and the challenge to push ourselves we need 15 total. we only look like we can get 8 so far.
I know of some others on this forum who have entered already, but for those of you who haven’t come on please....

CONDITIONS APPLY
Must be an Australian Citizen or Resident
All states must have AT LEAST 15 entries except Tasmania with a minimum of 10 entries for individuals of that State to be elligible to win prizes or to be nominated for the National Award.
One entry per person.
Entries must be in by 28th February 2013.


Entries should be posted by the painters themselves on the Face Book group "The Australian Body Art Awards & Face/Body Painting Convention". (please ask Maria Mormile to join if not a member).

Come on guys if you lack courage My formula was befriend Maria Mormile Abaa, join page, have a few drinks (as in tipsy, not plastered) eat chocolate, spend some quality time with someone you love, Have fun, paint something you normally don't get to do, and post. Be it for the lucky draw, or just to help your friends. For the record I expect my rear end to be kicked, No problem with that. Its not about that, but I tried and challenged myself - the raffle ticket is a good incentive too.

Hey, We are nearly neighbours I live in Douglas Park...
Will try to help, Will check it out tonight as son has overtaken computer today to try and get a job, better he do that first I guess.( I can't access the site from my mobile)
I don't know if I will have anything nearly good enough to enter and I don't have a Facebook page yet but will check it out. Is it for newbies too? Have been playing with facepainting for a while, doing friends and family and a couple of small things, but only recently gave myself kick start to get more serious, I mean you can only practice for so long. I keep telling myself you only get faster if you get out there, but then I keep thinking, I need to get faster before I get out there.( One day I hope to be at your standard)

It is open to anyone who is an Australian citizen or resident the site is having problems with with ipads.

If you Join the gruop friend Maria, you can message maria and she can send you the rules that way the post gors to facebook so as long as you can get on face book you are fine but double check it is
basically cosmetic grade paint.
You may paint yourself or a model.
you may take as little or as long as you want.
restricted to face and upper chest.
cosmetic glitter is aloud. Liquid bling and rhinestones not (so basically paint and glitter)

Each state has a theme. NSW has "the birth of fantasy"
They are written out better on the site (more official) I just am giving a gist of it.

In NSW we didn't like the idea of a competiton so we all decided to be very supportive and make it about fun and the lucky draw we need 15 painters I belive to be part of the lucky draw.

Nice to meet you louise there should be some more going up in the next week, alot of the newbies are nervous, but you don't have to be there are newbies and veterans in this I am scooting along as I guess intermediate and just entering to suport everyone and have some fun.

i think i might need to boost victoria with the first entry!! any victorians wanna join me!!!!

First entry of each state wins a calender!!! do it.. Vic has none, Then get some more victorians for the lucky draw!

I'm from the NT but didn't consider myself good enough to enter a competition and can't really afford to attend as much as I would like to. Also I worry that people will consider me too old. Be 60 this year.
