Re: Peanut Allergies...
I got a complete list of ingredients in all the DFX colours. No peanuts from what I can tell =)
A pdf with them all.

Re: Peanut Allergies...
Lone, do you still have that list of DFX ingredients? The link is broken.
I'd love to know about if we have to worry about peanut allergies, as well - I had a potential client call and say her daughter is allergic to peanuts...I told her I'd do some research. Here I go!

Re: Peanut Allergies...
Ok...emailed Snaz, DFX and Wolfe...ooh, and just about forgot Kryolan. Done. I'll post responses when I get them.
Re: Peanut Allergies...
The responses for this topic ended and I wanted to know what anyones responses were. The only response I got back was from DFX and they told me it was safe for peanut allergies. Waiting for others to get back to me but if anyone has any info that would help alot. Especially for Paradise which I use most.
Re: Peanut Allergies...
all I can say is that my niece is highly allergic to peanuts and has been painted with Snazaroo many times with no ill effects.
Re: Peanut Allergies...
I won't paint kids highly allergic to penuts. As a few years ago in Australia a 16 year old axcidentally killed his 15 year old girlfriend he had a penut butter sandwich, had a shower, brushed teeth etc and they went to movies he gave her a kiss (not even the french style, 6 hours after sandwich,) and she went anaphalactic and died within 8 mins. It makes me think that even thought I wipe kids down with baby wipe wash sponges. I could never be 100% sure that my brushes, water, or sponges etc have never came into contact with peanuts etc.
I tell parents that, as most of the peanut types are familiar with that inccident in Australia- that helps a great deal.
To me it isn't so much about the paint as all the children that I have painted before using those paints, brushes and sponges etc.

Re: Peanut Allergies...
Wow that's horrible! I guess you can never be too sure because you don't know what food particles can linger from painting a line of children. Well lucky for me the child in my sons daycare class that I was going to paint will be on vacation so that child won't be participating regardless.
Re: Peanut Allergies...
that is a really good point...i never thought of that...makes me think twice when doing events to note not to paint kids with peanut allergies. its something that may actually transfer after 6 hrs and you never know what everyone ate. better safe then sorry.WOW
Re: Peanut Allergies...
Yikes! Two of my children have severe peanut allergies and I never even thought about this! I believe the paints to be safe but like others have said, all it takes is a minuscule amount left from a previously painted child to cause a reaction. Very scary! Thanks for bringing this up!

Re: Peanut Allergies...
Thanks for the info, Sue and I think I will adopt the same - by not painting them. Can I use glitter tats on them instead?

Re: Peanut Allergies...
My grandson is beyond "peanut allergy" he simply stops breathing...so to me that is way beyond. I use wolfe and paradise with never a problem, of course we checked the ingredients out, but that was years ago. He is now 8, still allergic even though it is thought most children will out grow it. He is my favorite model. These children miss out on so much and often never feel as if they fit in with others, please check your products and think before cutting them out...they are made to feel so inferior in many situations. Our school system makes them sit at a separate table lunch time, think to kids being sent to another table is punishment.
Can you imagine the embarssement and hurt after standing in line to be painted. You can trust their mothers will know and often ask to read an ingredient list. Gavin never orders fast food where we don't read the ingredient BOX if it is a new product. Most places are happy to go bring us the freezer box and we read the ingredients.
Positive side: He is outstanding in comprehension and reading at least 2 grades in advance and this has made him a much happier kid. We did not know until he finally spent the night with a friend WHY. He mentioned he felt safe now because he could read the food boxes and not trust somebody else's mom.
Simply carry the ingredient list in your kit and let the mom read it.
