allergies?????
I know that someone here, (I think Shannon?) has bad allergies and only uses Snaz. There is a close friend of ours that their child reacted BADLY with cheap face paint. I was convinced that Snaz would be the do all save all......I was wrong. I painted G as a horse, two hours later she took a shower, was fine. The next morning she woke up and had a nice swollen outline in the shape of a horse.
DARN IT!
Anyone else had an experience like that?
Thanks

Re: allergies?????
Perry Noia only uses Snaz
Shannon doesn't use Paradise
My brother and I react to Kryolan and some others (glycerin is what we react to - he blisters)
If you want to try to find what works, try doing patch tests (on the arm), till you figure out what brands react (or what don't) - then you can compare what ingredients are different and possibly find the reacting ingredient.

Re: allergies?????
I'd also get pics & send them to snaz. Maybe they know what ingredients are more likely to cause reactions.
Re: allergies?????
I am allergic to many brands and I only use Snazaroo. That being said, I've had two brothers react to my paints because they are allergic to everything under the sun including red food dyes (the most likely culprit in that case).
If someone is concerned about reactions, it is best to offer to do a small mark on the inside of their forearm and have them walk around for 20-30 minutes and come back. If they haven't reacted by then, they will PROBABLY be ok with it. There are people allergic to everything and no product will be allergy safe for everyone. Most people have found that Snazaroo is LESS likely to cause reactions, but that doesn't make it fool proof either.

Re: allergies?????
I'm suspicious of the fact that it took over 12 hours to react. MOST allergic reactions happen instantaneously, those that don't happen within 6-10 hours. Could it have been that the child didn't have a histamine reaction but instead had a contact dermatitis/eczema reaction?
Re: allergies?????
See that's what I thought Tamariel. Why did it take so long for G to react? She was fine for up to 5 hours after she was painted but then the next morning had a reaction? I just don't understand. If I didn't know the dad better I would say he is making it up just to be right, he is that kind of dad, but I saw G she is in my kid's class. (poor thing)
Thanks Perry, sorry I got you and Shannon mixed up....OOPS......my mistake..

Re: allergies?????
That's okay....we're both Canadians.
I have had delayed reactions myself actually... red puffiness in the shape of the design, usually around my eyes and cheekbones. It isn't itchy, just blotchy... I just wash my face with cool water and mild soap and it usually is gone quickly.

Re: allergies?????
I have a sensitivity to Lanolin, it brings my skin out in hot rashes... It's not an allergy though and it takes a long time to react... Perhaps that's the problem?
Re: allergies?????
When I paint eye area with anything it always makes my eyes sensitive. Burning and watery by my skin seems fine. I have used Wolfe, diamondfx and fab so far and all the same.
