Body painting Supply usage?
If I only use one color, about how much actual paint do you think it would take to cover a body? What sort of dent would it make in a standard 30 gm. cake?
Re: Body painting Supply usage?
What brand?
If covering the whole body it would take almost all of a cake of Paradise - possibly all of it depending how opaque you want your finish (I speak from personal knowledge on this.)
Most other brands would have more left in the cake when you're done.
Paradise uses up faster. Wolfe and DFX are stiffer and you would have quite a bit left.
I wouldn't use Snaz for a full body - it dries up too much and flakes off faster than you can get the body painted.
I use Fardel creams when I body paint and use the 100ml pumps - I can get 4-5 full bodies out of one pump.

Thanks Shannon, that's exactly what I needed to hear. I'm painting a dark skinned girl as an Avatar so I was hoping to use up the Paradise Teal that I have (so I won't have to worry about the staining) but I wanted to make sure I had enough before I started out with it.

Great info Shannon, when I get to doing a full body paint this will sure help.
Sophie hope your share your pics with us.

Re: Body painting Supply usage?
I did 3 full body blue aliens recently and used less than 1 large DFX metallic blue.
Also for my last 2 full body avatar guys, it hardly dented a large MAC pale blue and the dregs of a DFX metallic blue.
I got though less than 1 Paradise red for a full body red devil dancer, but as I warned them it looked rubbish as it was plain, matt red, as they asked for:(
However years back when I started I did 16 guys in blue rugby shirts and that used up about 4 large bottles of liquid blue Mehron...as said it all depends on the paints & how you work them.
I generally find metallics use less as they are sheeny so you can work thinner.

I did a five year old as a full body avatar... I had about 1/3 left of a brand new paradise cake... but he was half the size of a woman and a third the size of a man. I actually gave them the rest of the cake so they could touch him up if necessary as he had to travel in the car and do some Kungfu with it on.
Re: Body painting Supply usage?
I think I'll be ok. I have 3/4 of a cake and my buddy has about the same amount if I need it (I think he's anxious to get his used up too!) I'm really hoping that the girl will change her mind about the design- I've offered a few other suggestions- I just think that sometimes people want what they have already seen and don't really understand the possibilities.
And yes, of course I will post pictures.- even if it's just from my dumpy little cell phone. I really need to move "buy a new camera" to the top of my to do list!

Ask the client if they have a decent camera? At least then you might get better than cell phone pics.
