Sound the trumpet!
This is semi-sort of, not really face painting related, but...there's a party company known as Magic Princess who covers a large swatch of California (Sacramento to LA), performing at kids birthday parties, corporate events, and a wide array of other events. Each Princess (or Prince) goes dressed up as one of over 40 characters and leads three activities, like twisting balloon animals or face painting (ha! See? semi-sort of face painting related post). They also tell a story and basically...PLAY. Their job is to play and to make it the best party these kids have ever been to, while staying completely in character.
With that long-winded setup...I am now officially Princess Alora! My training starts today and then onward and upward to the best job ever! If that weren't enough to make me squeal with joy for the next three weeks, when I was auditioning I went in with my face painted. At the Q&A part of the audition, I asked what types of face paints she used. She (the original Magic Princess) then asked me what face paints I use. When I told her, she said she'd be willing to work something out with me to where I could buy the Diamond FX paints and any face painting supplies I needed with a reasonable allowance each month! HOW cool this that?!?!?
I'm getting paid to do what I love. It doesn't get much better than that!

I almost forgot I had pictures!

Re: Sound the trumpet!
So wait my mom was wrong? you really can grow up to be a princess? i sooo got a raw deal!! lol congrats! was it intimidating being faced with the original Magic Princess? Does anyone call her the Queen Mum when she's not looking? I would lol
Re: Sound the trumpet!
Yay! Congrats! If they go Sacramento to LA, do they do the Central Coast? (San Luis Obispo area)
Re: Sound the trumpet!
Thank you for all the congratulations everyone!
Kris: Thank you! I had a blast mixing and matching costume pieces :]
Mizzard: Haha yes! A princess is a perfectly good occupational choice. The 'Queen Mum' (haha) is very friendly, so it wasn't intimidating to be around her at all.
Geekophile: Princess Alora is me! You take your first name and add 'Princess' to it :]
Maggie: *takes a bow* Thaaaaaank you
Gina: San Luis Obispo isn't in my eh-department? (ha) My 'kingdom' is 200 miles within San Francisco. The LA kingdom is the same.

Re: Sound the trumpet!
Oh! that is even cooler! I thought Alora was a MOVIE princess. But YOU are the princess- not just playing a character- and that is seriously awesome.
Re: Sound the trumpet!
Congratulations, Prince Alora! Enjoy it!
