I am BRAND NEW!!
I started by looking into glitter tattoos and I came across face painting. I was lucky to reach out to a local FP I found and I was invited to a Guild meeting which will be next Thursday. I am a big crafter and I get a little obsessive when I find a fun new project.
I have somehow been able to resist buying paints...but I have been looking at everything online.
I wanted to get some suggestions...should I splurge and get the Paradise pallette or should I piece things together slowly?
I tend to just dive in head first...so I am TRYING to hold back...but I really want to order a bunch of stuff so I can start playing!

Re: I am BRAND NEW!!
I started off with a palette of essential colours just to see how I liked it, I bought and handful of sponges and a few good brushes, a 3/4 flat, a round brush and a thin brush for doing line work details then as I used my kit I just replaced the more popular colours with bigger individual sizes and got some metalics etc, I bought my palette in October and the only colours i've replaced so far are black, white, red and pink and believe me I do alot of playing around and practising with them so they're well worth the money
Hope this helps

Re: I am BRAND NEW!!
Since you are just starting out a small pallet of various brands is nice that way you aren't stuck with large sizes of colors that you may or may not like. I have the DFX pallet that has 12 essential colors, I love it! Also the Tag pallet of simlar colors, also love but the white isn't as strong as the DFX.
I also got a sampler from snazaroo that had their top 36 or so colors in it, this was my first small set. It lasted really long and the colors work really well on kids as they don't seem to stain as badly. This was a great starter set.
Great to meet you by the way. Welcome to the forum. Don't forget to go introduce in the introductions section.

I would also suggest just getting a small pallet of essential colors. In fact, a lot of craft stores carry Snaz kits (I got my first set of metallic paints at Hobby lobby). And all my brushes are from the craft store as well. I got the wheel of like 16 colors for about 10$. And its more than enough paint to get started, it seems to last much more than they estimate actually.
Welcome to the awesome club, its a lot of fun.

We are the same in that aspect! I am usually buying up a storm! This is normal for me as I am a crafter and I do sell (a small amount) of my stuff so I have the excuse as it being an "investment". I have been REALLY good...and it has been REALLY hard to resist this long...I have been on Google searching everything face painting related for a month!
I worry that once I figure out what I do want I will go CRAZY!
