Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Daizy thank you so much for sharing your wonderful paintings with us all. I constantly feel inspired by so many on this forum especially by you. Ever since I saw your fairy's I've been wanting to do one too. I've been putting it off thinking I couldn't do it justice. Today I deceided to stop coming up with excuses & just paint. So here is my rose fairy inspired totally by you. As it's the first time I've painted a fairy I copied yours, I am determined to practice more & more so that I can put my own spin on it. I'm so grateful for the inspiration.

Mandi, it is gorgeous! I love the addition of the flowers.
Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Mandi??????? Girlfriend????? Never painted what??? If that is your first attempt copy or not it is fabulous. Your roses are really so soft and beautifully done and you nailed the fairy. You are so creative it will not take long before we see your "personality" coming through in the design.
Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Lovely Mandi! I've also wanted to give this one a try but have feared not giving it justice! You did great!
Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
I love the fairy!! And I agree, Daizy's fairies are so awesome!
Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
That is beautiful!
May I ask, what did you use for the gold glitter outline?
Just gorgeous.

I think it looks darn good especially for your first time, mine wouldn't look half as good the first time around.

Mandi you Rock!
I would love love love to be able to actually paint a fairy that didn't look mong.
So many little girls say " I just want a fairy".... and get rainbowd and flowered!
Keep going sweets - your doing an amazing job....
is this design something you think you could pull off on a little girls cheek?
xx

Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Oh Tash thank you xx I've always had little girls ask if they could have a fairy & yep me too I've rainbowed, swirled & flowered them too. I really like to think that I could do this on a little girls cheek/forhead.
I've been blessed with two adorable boys, who I showed my fairy to yesterday & one just raised his eyebrow & the other said 'that's beautiful mum' & in the same breathe you know my PS2 game speed undercover.......
Oh well I'll just have to have a go at doing a fairy like this when I'm working. I have a regular gig every Sat night so I should be able to find a willing model then.

Aaaah Daizy you make me laugh -wish you could paint like that-hahahaha
Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Oh and if I am ever asked for a fairy I usually just go for flowers and sparkles too... its not until someone spots one off my banner that I have to then do the 'real' fairies. I think I am getting faster though, although they are one of the more time consuming paintings.
Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Fancy that. Here I was thinking that you were painting these gorgeous fairies all the time & imagined you'd have the timing down pat.
How long do you think it takes you to do your fairy?

Re: Inspired by Daizy - thank you for sharing
Probably takes me about 8 minutes... although I am going to try with a split cake on the skirt and see if that makes a difference.
Honestly I was trying to paint roses last night and they were just awful!

Another fairy, that's beautiful. I think I'm reading your posts in the wrong timeline, started with your last? I love them all.

Daizy here's a link to learn from the queen of one stroke roses - Donna Dewberry. I'm absolutely sure you can master this as you have so much talent already it's just a 'new' thing to paint & learn how to make your base of the rose & then build on it....well I can't wait to see your finished rose. Have fun
