To Base OR Not To Base...thats the ?
OK Abstract design I am working on I like it from the cheek up. Not feeling the wing thing at the chin or maybe I should shorten them a IDK??? Don't know if I want bold black outline or thin...still deciding. Anyway my question is that it feels like something is missing. Then I thought hmmmm maybe I should have based my whole face in white.
So white base or stand alone?

I don't think I would do your base in white, maybe a very light metallic??? Like a rose, or minty green or something like that???

First of all.... I LOVE your recent designs and ideas. Really awesome in terms of color and just being FUN- Also the potential to vary them but still keep a theme is terriffic too.
My feeling is, these kinds of designs actually look best when they are more asymetrical, and so, rather than add a base to the whole thing, I think I would try it with one cheek or the other either left blank, or with some more angular sections on that side.
But ya know what- I think your creative ideas are AWESOME just as they are!

I love it!
Maybe not a full base, but some more black connecting the background. It might help make it look more fluid & draw the eye across the design. Hmmm, I'm trying to figure out how to explain what I'm seeing visually in my head...

I just tried your design with a parelmoer base....ehm the online translator says mother-of-pearl ....do you know what I mean?
and when i was finished sprinkled some glitter over it.
it gave it the extra touch..... I'm not going to show you pictures because your design is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more beatiful

maybe some light colour-matching metallic background colours?
Re: To Base OR Not To Base...thats the ?
i love the uniqueness!
i think there is a lot going on...
i think i would just use a shimmer around the eye...and, just do a couple of the circles..
because each one is so intricate...
but...love the whole idea!!

My initial thought was that maybe if I did a white base, I could still create the movement of the swirls and such just doing more outlining with black.
But now I am thinking what if I did it in reverse on a white base. Everything that is now white would be black. Woould it still look as good?
Maybe I am just over thinking the whole thing.
As always thank you for your input
