Post by shimmer20 Wed Apr 13, 2011 12:33 am

This is my second shot at the butterfly today april 12. I think it is much better. I used a tip from Perry noia to keep my paint wet and my sponge dry. The paint came out much brighter! I still need to work on making the top of the butterfly longer.

I like it! Great colors & the linework is good.
A little advice is to reduce the size of the wings. Kids will smudge it if it's too low on the face. I try to have my butterfly stop at or just below the cheekbone. I then take all the lines & pint them at the tear duct.
Hope this heps! Yours is still much better than my soggy drippy butterflies I started with Very Happy

I can see the difference, the colors are nice and bright and the blending is really good.
Ditto to what Linda said about the lines.

Very nice! See, snazaroo isn't so bad once you learn to work with it.... It just isn't as bright on the first try, there's a bit of a learning curve. And you're curving faster than me now because it took me almost two years of painting to get the paint more bright and opaque.

Awesome progress!
You might trya little white highlight on the black lines, especially the butterfly body and antennae.

White edged butterflies look great on darker skin. You'll love how they POP!
