First butterfly Empty First butterfly

Post by Seahorse101 Wed Sep 14, 2011 4:11 pm

So I figures if I started with a pretty easy/standard design I could do a good job. It is her birthday and I told her I'd practice on her.

Lots of firsts here: first butterfly, first time using sponges, first time painting my 7 yr old...

I've played with painting & brushes my whole life but this is the 3rd time I've painted a face( well first real face since yesterday it was my leg & my younger daughters arm). And I'm pretty happy with it. OK, I'm really happy with it- not the caliber of some of the amazing art here- but definately a good start.

thanks everyone. i was pretty excited- her teacher let her wear it all day (i sent wipes just in case they said no.) I'm sure there will be a point where she is sick of he painting but right now its the honeymoon phase and she cant wait to be my model.

thanks nancy. its my first on a face. I have done calligraphy, played w/ japanese brushes, doodled my whole life but finally tried face paint. Don't know why it took so long for me to give it a try but its pretty darn fun.

That looks great! May I ask what size brush(es) you used for your line work? Also, what brand white/black are you using?

I've got paradise paints ( it's what the party store in town carries and surprisingly it's about the same as buying online) and either a 3 or 4 round brush.
