Snazaroo Recommendations
Looking beyond makeup, as well...
I currently use Snaz jumbo palettes, and the have the following Snaz colours:
Bright Red
Orange
Dark Orange
Pastel Yellow
Grass Green
Sky Blue
Turquoise
Purple
Bright Pink
White
Black
Light Brown
Light Grey
Sparkle Pink
Sparkle Orange
That's the extent of my Snaz stuff.
I'm looking for recommendations for anything Snaz (colours, brushes, etc) that I don't already have to possibly try out. I know I don't want stencils or stamps...how are the shimmer powders? Any other colours I "have to" have?
TIA!

Sparkle Yellow
Sparkle Red
Sparkle Lilac
Sparkle Turquoise
Sparkle Blue
Ochre Yellow
And the Glitter powders are all good. I have all the colours - nice for using on the younger kids, and the pink makes a nice princess blush and the purple and blue princess eyeshadow!

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
I love the sparkle pink and purple... I just got them and they are beautiful! Other than that, most of my colours are the same as yours.
Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
I'm a big fan of the electric blue also, love it!
I'm planning to stock up on some Snaz basics this weekend - it's the weekend superspecial at Curry's - 35% off!!! - and their prices are already really good. They don't carry very many colours though.
One thing I wish I hadn't bothered with is the Snaz dotter wand.

A pretty useless tool IMO. These things are called "smudgers" in make-up tools and are generally used for smudging eye-liner. And if you want one you can get them cheap at a drugstore!

That's what I thought too! When I first saw it online I though it looked pretty nifty but had no $$ at the time so didn't get it. then I saw a friend of mine actually using one and then I realized I already HAVE one in my normal everyday people make-up kit! I cleaned off the eyeshadow and tried with my paints and hated it. So glad I didn't buy it!

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
I don't recommend the glitter gel, I don't like it at all and am not really a fan of the brushes. I agree with the sparkle colours. I use the sparkle red on a lot of spidey's, the sparkle green on monster masks and the colours on my unicorn avatar around the eyes are sparkle turquoise, gold and pink.
Congrats on the prize! You deserve it, one of the most clever designs ever!

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
Awesome! I do have Ochre (totally forgot), and I definitely want the Sparkles to make a sparkle rainbow (and I love the pink for blush!), but I did think I was going to pass on the dotter wand. (And the glitter gel. I love my poof bottles!)
Ooh, yay Curry's! 35% off is awesome!
Thoughts on Sparkle green vs Electric green? Does anyone use Sea Blue/Teal? Lilac? Pastel blue? Thoughts on how Bright green is vs Grass green?
Brushes are a tricky thing to order online, IMO. I've done it a few times and the only one I actually like is my Mark Reid #4 - I much prefer getting brushes in person, but I thought I'd ask if anyone loved any Snaz ones, anyway!
And thank you, Danica! It totally made my day

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
Snaz brushes are a bit hit and miss. I've bought them in "bulk" for workshops and while some of them are pretty good - the yellow handled filbert is good for leaves for example, and the gold handled round is usually decent - but brush to brush quality is not consistent. I've had some that are great, but another of the same brush will have a shorter/longer/jagged loofe and not work the same. And don't bother with the Snaz sables.
And the Snaz sparkles for a rainbow are awesome, bright and long lasting... I used them in my body painting shown here http://shannonfennell.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/my-latest-body-painting/

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
I use the teal and it is a very popular colour... it looks great blended with pink in a butterfly.
Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
Sparkles are definitely all getting ordered! I did ponder between Sparkle Green, Sparkle Pastel Green, and Electric green...and went with the pastel since I'm mainly wanting something softer for rainbows. I figure having DFX Metallix green nixes my need for the Electric...
Okay. No brushes. Thanks, Shannon.
And I'm going to try teal, too! And lilac. Teal/pink/lilac could be an awesome split...
Michelle, what do you use the Electric Purple for?

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
I love my Snaz brushes! They were the first ever brushes I brought and are still going strong. I got a packet of 3, a #1 and #2 round and a small flat brush. I would be completely lost without my larger snaz round!
As for colours, my favourite must haves are Sparkle Pink, Red, Orange, Ocre, Lime Green, Turquoise, Electric blue, Lilac.
I have only ever tried a small sparkle purple and I hated it, I really do just struggle finding a nice purple. Oh and the sparkle turquoise I could not work with at all.
As for the teal, I love the colour but could never use it on someone elses kids as it stains terribly.

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
The Electric purple simply works much better than the sparkle one. It is great for splits for butterflies, crowns/jewels, bases for masks
I think Shannon has it in her working palette so she may have more ideas

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
I have a round brush from Snaz that I love for making flower petals. It's shorter than most round brushes. I use it for daisy's. I agree, the dotter wand was a big waste. I don't like to take the time to switch tools to make dots.
Have fun shopping!!!
I just got my split cakes from Anna's contest I love love love them!

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
Placed my order! I want to stay as stain free as possible (ha)...so I opted out of Teal and tried Sea Blue instead. I've got a Kryolan teal that stains me horribly, but a lot of green/blue tends to linger on my skin.
I ended up with ROYPastelGBTurquoiseV in Sparkles, plus pink, Electric blue and purple, matte lime green, bright green, sea blue, and a few disposable smoothie blenders to round things out. Can't wait to make splits!!

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
About 16 months ago I threw out every bit of Snaz I had. I just am an idiot when I try to use it!
Then, in one of my classes last week, a girl way using it for lines line work. I was about to very condensendingly say, "Oh, Snaz is really terrible for line work ...." when I noticed how REALLY good that students line work was!
So, there you go. That's what makes horse racing.

Re: Snazaroo Recommendations
LOL! I thought about throwing mine away & decided I'd paid for it & I'd make it work. I still don't use it for lines(why when I have DFX?), but there's a few colors I like for bases. I just wish it wouldn't go dull & flake an hour later.
