namanda123, beautiful!
I love it when the edges blend so smoothly!
Thanks for sharing!
Punky, what wonderful work!
loves-LOVES the eagle!
You're right.... the rainbow is gorgeous!
Me too, synni!
grinning
Noella, thanks!
I was wondering how deep it was... reading later posts...
I love the way the container looks... wish I could find something with 1" x 2-4 inch length with only a 1/2 inch depth....
I have a fishing lure container that's almost perfect, except for the depth!
Gina, thanks for the link!!
oh, Linda, thanks for the recommendation!
I'm waiting on Metina to get in her shipment of TAG so that I can put in a hefty order!!!
Can't wait!

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
Liz Caswell, hi there!
waving from down below..
I'm from TN... Great color combinations!!!
How do you find snazaroo holding up to our humid/hot summers?
I was a bit concerned, living in East TN... having hot, and VERY humid summers... .I had heard that it didn't hold up as well as some other brands.... though, I have color envy.... as snaz has some GREAT colors!!
Can't wait to see the splits!
Tash, I saw the Unicorn split... it's lovely!!
I have already gone through many of my paints making splits!!! blushed laugh
Now I need to order paints so that I'll have the solid colors!!! sheesh... *L*
I thought that when I ordered the neons, I'd make some with all six colors, then divide a couple of containers... having just three colors.... fushia/orange/yellow, and the green/blue/violet.... I love the look in some of the pictures where they use the split colors to make butterflies 'n such!
Thanks, JBax!!!
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
To be fair though, after the concept was introduced, many of the color combos COULD HAVE in some cases, been put together by another at the same time as ABC. To say that 90% of the color combos that ABC are in are all absolute unique combinations of colors and that anyone who puts these color combos together is stealing your's and Heather's work is a bit alienating IMHO.
I know many of use were stunned last year when a member came up with the Twilight color combination only to see it on SF about a month later. We all just laughed it off and thought, well I guess the member came up with a brilliant combo if SF is using it. Or.....it could have just been a coincidence.
Anyway, I think we all give you(Rebecca) the credit for coming up with putting face paint together in the ABC way, but we also know that Donna Dewberry was one-stroking long before any of us.
So I think the best way to support the ABC brand is to continue to post pictures and chime into threads when an ABC could be a good solution rather than simply posting almost exclusively to split cake threads. I know I would want to buy more ABC's if I saw them in action.

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
And to answer the orginal post that was a bit highjacked(sorry), my most used split cakes are the green combos. I love many others, but the color combos with the shades of greens and yellows and sometimes white are used the most. Leafs, greenery, reptiles, dragons, and such. TBH, I really don't like the cakes at all with the black in them. The black really overpowers the other colors if you aren't EXTREMELY careful.
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
rebecca, thanks for sharing your feelings... I can understand how frustrating that it might be.
I agree with Metina... from all that I have read, when the subject arises, you've always been praised for your efforts in the face painting industry. smile
There are many people in this industry and others that have paved the way for improvements and inventions/creations that have made an incredible (positive) impact upon their fields/interests/etc... hopefully, that will continue through the next millennium or so!

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
Metina, thanks!
I found that black can be overwhelming!
When making my splits (the meager little things they are.. *g*) I only put a thin sliver of black on a few of them.... then, whittled a fair bit off the side! laugh
I have it in my flame split as well as one of the ocean splits.... I think that's it!
Red can overpower as well, can't it?
Thanks!!

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
Well said Metina, and I agree about the cakes with black in them as well. When I first tried out the jungle cake (I think that's what it's called...lol) I bought from you last year, I accidentally had my brush more on the really dark, shade (it's either black or a really really dark green) and it really over powered the color for the look I was going for. But no worries really, I just now make a mental note to keep my brush more towards the yellow side. I love that cake for making leaves, it just adds that bit of added depth that really finishes off the design.

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
That's awesome! I'm looking forward to longer cakes and design sheets!!
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
OMG....I make alot of my split cakes with colour combos I like, but 80% of my splits are arty cakes and from Silly Farm. They have the most amazing colours. I actually have 2 big SF splits on their way.
I am glad the little square arty cakes are going to be bigger and longer containers. I was practicing lastnight with one of my favs and it was really hard to get a good loaded brush with that little square container.
Love the colour combos but I rarely buy the little arty cakes b.c of the cost and what quantity you actually get. A few faces and I am usually seeing the plastic bottom of the container.
So hurray Heather from SF. I love you guys and your products.

Glad to hear that...
Regarding the "hijacking" I think it would have been well placed in the Where's the Beef section. It takes away from the topic focus when big, long off-topic comments are posted.
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
My fav and most popular cake is the neon rainbow! The girlz LOVE it! I feel it pops and gives that wow factor so much more than a regular rainbow.
A bit of a product review to go with... I got my first neon rainbow cake from here at the forum shop. Again, LOVE it, got both sizes and they are just great. Well, ran out and was ordering some other stuff from Silly Farm and ordered the *Wolfe neon rainbow. Thinking Wolfe and DFX are so close, it would be the same colors. I was really bummed when I started working with it. The blue and the purple seem almost pastel and not neon, so that pop is not there. It was so much the so, that even my girlz where noticing the difference! In the pic on my board it is super bright, but that cake definitely is not. So just a little heads up on what your getting. If anyone asks, I can take pics to show the difference.

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
I would love to see the difference. I have been avoiding neons. I love so many different brands of splits. I'm happy to hear ABCs are evolving to meet our needs.
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
Ok, that was more difficult than I thought. How do you people take pics of your own arm? LOL!
It was hard to get on camera what I was talking about. And I was wrong about the purple, it's just the blue that was pastel. The DFX rainbow is on the left and Wolfe on the right. Because there is so much blue in the Wolfe, you can really see it. On the DFX, it's harder to tell in the pic. I've attached another pic so you get an idea of what it looks like in a design. Hope it you can tell.

Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
I too love my Neon Rainbow. Synni, I love how you outlined the butterflies in purple. I have been outlining mine with black which is cool for teens cause I gave it a more mature look but I've not done the purple , I will , very pretty.
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
thanks jodi. yeah it seems to fit better with the little girls. the purple i used is pearl purple from TAG. my new fav to out line with. not a huge fan of black out lines as it is so unforgiving.
Re: split cakes - what's your favorite color combinations?
I finally got pictures of my recently made splits, and have my laptop back from the geeks so here goes.
I made these with little leftover bits I had. Waste not, want not.
I don't think my pictures really show the colors well though, but you will get the idea.
The containers I keep all my splits in, even my ArtyBrush cakes. I just find it easier to handle and store like this. My older ones I put stickers over the days of the week, and I always have kids point to the sticker saying they want "that one." Meaning, they want me to paint a yoda or ariel or mickey, lol.

Hey there Liz, I really like the one closest to your wrist, it reminds me of watermelon colors!
