for those that use wix is it totally free?

Alright, I have a question for wix users. Why when I hit preview I don't see all the stuff I have changed, it is driving me crazy. I am about to throw the towel here

Same issue and I already have thrown in the towel. Can NOT seem to figure out how to make it not suck and do what I want it to. If you find the magic, I may be willing to try and plow through again...but at this point, I've given up!

I use Wix....still trying to go through a redo to make it have more continuity. Wix is still a little confusing sometimes, so I'm still learning. But can't beat FREE! for now. I just use a domain name from GoDaddy that I bought for 10 bucks.

I know NOTHING and I mean NOTHING about web design, hosting, etc! I'm very tech challenged! But, I did mine thru wix solo! So if I can do it, you can too!

They didn't have the look that I wanted in the premade templates, so being ignorant(ok a little particular too) difficult it can be, I decided to "build" my own. I just read and watched the videos to navigate thru it. I don't even remember how I did most of it, but it's done! Whew!

I didn't go thru wix for my name tho, I went thru GoDaddy as well. Again, being ignorant, I had to googly what is hosting, yada, yada, yada. It just seemed to me that GoDaddy was reliable. I could have had (and did for a while till I figured out what I was gonna buy) the free name, but it was really long. (Ya know, kinda like my sentences & most of my posts! LOL!) And I didn't want all that on my business cards.

Good luck Ladies! Go build the sites that fit your needs & don't give up!! Quiting isn't good!! (Except when dropping bad habbits!) BE A SUCCESS! Just a little motivational speaking for ya'll!

So Painted Dragon, have you been happy with your weebly experience? Is it really free (except domain)? My husband is concerned that if hosting is free you might lose control of intellectual property (i.e. images).

For me, I lucked out. I found a really cool template on wix & just filled all my info in. It took a little work, but I did it!

If you go to your profile on FPF you'll see an area where you can add your website to your signature. Just paste it in & every time you post on here, your site will be posted. Every time your site is mentioned on the Internet it raises it's listing. I also have it listed on every free advertising site I can(like partypop, etc.). Some let you list it for free(like merchantcircle.com) & some don't without paying.

Here's where you claim your business on Google. Make sure to put it in a random centralized area of your city & not your real address. You don't want weirdos showing up at your door to get painted

Maggie-thx, aren't those just so pretty? They just spoke to me, lol! I've tried to brand myself with them if you will. Created a backdrop for my tent with my bus name and the swirlys. (there are pics of it somewhere on here) Wanting to do my business cards too, but got lazy and just used a pic and an ok font. I'll try to pull some vector images later to incorporate the swirlys for the cards. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!
