Hello Smile I'm researching airbrush machines and I'm trying to decide which is best for me, but I'm very confused. I impersonate some children's characters and I'd like to improve what I already do by adding face painting, etc. I need a machine that is good for face painting, hair designs (with stencils) and basic makeup application to give me that perfect princess complexion. Most importantly though, I need a machine and makeup that is capable of covering tattoos, I have some tats that I need to cover with certain costumes and I'm always having trouble with makeup staining fabric etx,. Can anyone recommend some machines please? Thanks!!!

Welcome to the Forum, AceySixx!
If you go into your Profile, above, and type in your general location, local artists in your area may be able to help you and you can look over their kit.

I use my airbrush for body painting. It is hard to airbrush a child's face without them flinching, or opening their eyes.

An acquaintance of mine works on a TV set doing HD makeup. The silicone-based makeup became an immovable blob that gummed up her airbrush when she used her airbrush with some hybrid airbrush paint. I suspect that I would need separate airbrush guns if I wanted to create flawless princess skin on myself. I suspect I would NOT be striving to make my 53 year old vintage skin into princess worthy appearance.

Let us know from whence you hail and someone may be able to help you.

Happy Painting!

Best tattoo cover IMO are inks - Reel Creations, Temptu, etc. They have kits specifically for tattoo cover-up. I use them all the time for stage work, weddings, etc. Much cheaper than airbrush equipment.

Also, airbrush really isn't used much for face painting per se. Body painting, yes, generally not just used for faces. It is not child friendly equipment.

Stencil tattoos at high volume events is the best use for them if you are after a money making venture.
