Re: Going to LaFete?
Let me know what stuff your interested in. I can probably give you some pointers.
If you want some local food at a regular guy price you need to go to Cafe Maspero just off the French Quarter. LOVE the food. The cooks look like bikers and the waitresses are classic. Its almost open air on the bottom floor of an 18th century building. At least one breakfast (if the weather is nice) you have to go to the french quarter to the Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee. There is also a fun ghost tour of the Quarter area that is tons of fun if you into that sort of thing.

Re: Going to LaFete?
cool, we're not taking all of the morning classes so we're prolly gonna go exploring! We'll have to chat at LaFete... I'm not real sure what I wanna do, BUT NO GHOST!!!
Re: Going to LaFete?
Aw Vi... don't be escared of ghosts!
I'm super-bummed not to go this year, but I'm sending a good buddy, Joy Carter, your way. You can't miss her... she's super fun and 6 feet tall. I had planned on going this year, but now have to save my monies for a fantastic summer vacation.
Definitely on the books for next year!

Sry to hear you wont make it Jen, but I will look for Joy. I checked our hotel location and its only a block off Canal St. and 6 or 7 blocks off the French Quarter. Not too bad.

ooooh, ghost tour sounds like fun. Definately saving up for next year's La Fete.
Re: Going to LaFete?
I'll do the ghost tour.
Yep, I'll spend my hard earned money to get the bejeebers scared out of me instead of walking downstairs and looking in my girls bedrooms for free.

LOL, the ghost tours are mostly a fun history lesson, but takes you around the French Quarter at night sharing all the stories of what is a VERY old city. Lots of shadows and spooky tails. My family loved it when we went, and we live here. A lot of the stuff has been shown on TV at different times but seeing it is more fun.
