TAG for bases
Anyone know how well the TAG brand works for base work? I find DFX to be rather dry and "cracky" not to mention itchy (on my own skin). Anyone have any 411 on TAG? Is it any creamier than DFX? I have a feeling it's the same but just wanted to check with y'all. Creamier doesn't look like it's spelled right for some reason but you get the drift hopefully, haha. CREAMY(ER), either way not a word used very often I suppose.

Re: TAG for bases
I really really love Tag pearl white for a skull base or tiger muzzle, I used it for a half bodied Zebra on a guy on Sat. It has a really nice pearly shiny finish and you don't have to apply as much as you do with Paradise ( not sure about DFX). I have DFX metalic pink - I wouldn't do base with that as it is so heavily pigmented it will definitely stain.
I would suggest getting some Tag Pearl and trying it out, the bases will be shiny.... I find it hard to switch back to paradise after seeing the pearls... but there is always the staining thing with Tag and DFX so I will always go back to my paradise.
As far as I know DFX and Tag are exactly the same - with only a few colour differences and perfumes. Tag feels a little tight sometimes on my skin, but when compared to Merhon they all do.

I love the pearl white (I only got it on a whim and though I would never use it) its wonderful for bases but I find most of the TAG colours are good for bases. The pearl colours are the creamiest of them all and just glide on without much work.
Re: TAG for bases
TBH, I never noticed any difference performance-wise between DFX, Wolfe FX, and TAG. They all make excellent, solid bases.

Re: TAG for bases
I haven't used DFX for bases. I only have TAG and I've never found it itchy or dry/"cracky"
Re: TAG for bases
Not sure but if you find it cracks, it sounds like you may be applying it way too thick? I use it all the time and have only ever had it crack once when I used aton of water and then sopped it all up with the white dfx...put it on thick...yuck a poo!!

Re: TAG for bases
I find as a base some of the colors crack more easily than others.....the cracking wasn't the biggest thing, for me....it felt tight, itchy and very dry even with a thin coat. I will say that even though I felt all of the above negatives, that oddly enough it did feel very light. Not to mention that you would need a paintbrush in both hands if you had any intention of doing any blending that wasn't done IMMEDIATELY! Not even getting into the stain factor (even though I know all brands have their stubborn little colors).
Not saying it's a bad brand for everyone folks, just saying these were my experiences with it. So don't send me any hate messages defending your wonderful DFX....take that time and call your mom to say hello!
I'm just a strong Paradise fan I suppose.....for me (as of now) there is no other. Tried them all except for tag and nothing really beckons me to make it a mainstay. I just feel good about telling people that it's made in the USA when they ask and that it can actually be good for your skin. Just my take on it. What's yours? (I DO LIKE CHINA, so no hate mail about that either, use that time to call your DAD to say hello) LOL I know disclaimers are vital around here, I'm on to you folks!!!

This was all done w/ TAG. I think you just have to know how to handle your products and tools...

Re: TAG for bases
I was given the complete line of DFX (by a distributor) when it very first came out (first batch available) and while the colors were very nice, i just didn't care for it. I just wanted to know if TAG was pretty much DFX but with a different sticker on top. I was offered a chance to vend the product but declined because I didn't think I should promote to sell something I really wasn't crazy about.
I know many use it with much success, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I don't know if it's been tweaked since it's release or not. Has anyone who tried it initially found any difference in it as time went on or has it stayed consistent?

Re: TAG for bases
I use dfx, tag, paradise, wolfe, kryolan & snaz as a base. They all do well but are different. You just need to know your product & use it accordingly.
