Painted my own belly.....not so pretty...lol.

It was a DISASTER!!! Upside down and backwards is not NOT fun. Especially when lettering is involved. BUT...

Since it took so long (2 hours!!) I thought someone should see it. LOL!

I hennaed my own belly when pregnant and know how hard it is to do your own belly....not to mention, when that pregnant, EVERYTHING is tiring and harder than expected.

I can't even imagine trying to paint my own belly! Not to mention doing letters. I love the purple background! Great stuff!

Hard to paint your one belly but I think it became quite nice.

The good part is you can practice all you want!
You could paint the picture up side down, take this pic & flip it. I bet no one would know.
BTW, pretty good lettering... mine always ends up backwards in a mirror.

I think you did a great job!! Maybe the lettering isn't all that if you did it on someone else, but that's darn professional calligraphy when you consider you did it on yourself and the blending is perfect! I think you should be proud of yourself!

Here is another thought...if you can disguise your belly button enough, you are pretty uniformily round. Why not do it looking down and only using the mirror on the underside and then turning the photo upside down? You would get plenty of designs for your portfolio, lotsa practice and still have fun doing it! You would be suprised at how few people would realize your belly button is not where it should be!!

I thought about doing it upside down. But it sticks out so far it would still be in the mirror ( I cant see past about 1/4 of the way down my belly. lmao) and it was also REALLY uncomfortable to sit that long hunched over to paint. I was going to try it again, but have decided against it after this attempt.

Bec, I think it turned out great. If you decide to go again, standing up in front of a mirror was the most comfortable position I found when painting myself. Sitting was horrible.

thanks! yup a girl. I have 2 boys now. I told my husband if it wasn't a girl it was staying at the hospital. I can't handle another crazy boy.

Thats when I did it. I wanted to wait longer, but I'm glad I didn't. I could barely reach this time!!
