Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I had a blacklight lamp borrowed from someone...now I don't have it anymore...
Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I need to get a good blacklight... right now I'm using a festival bought lightsabre belonging to my son.
if offended by nipples, don't look...
this is the only picture I took when I borrowed a blacklight...it has an awesome effect!
Re: Details/Rules/Prize
They arent that expensive!! You can just go to Home Depot, Menards and get a black light light bulb. Stick it in a lamp and aim it at whatever you want to glow.
Or go on Ebay http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=black+light&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Re: Details/Rules/Prize
Better to get a torch or handheld lamp. The small bulbs are almost useless in my experience. But you can buy heavy duty torches with UV lights.

I was thinking maybe paint my subject then go to the local nightclub,lol.. they usually have blacklights I dunno, I haven't been there in a lonnng while! lol
Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I was just roaming around my Home Depot the other day and saw a compact flourescent black lightbulb (you know-- the swirly ones) for $5. The bar type ones were a bit more expensive. I've never seen them in a torch. (that's like a flashlight right?)
Re: Details/Rules/Prize
You can get a 24inch blacklight for 20.00 online http://www.cheapbandgear.com/24_Blacklight_Fixture_Lamp_p/802bl.htm

Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I'm really struggling with this challenge.... I've tried a few things, but I'm just not happy. It's also bugging me that many of the colors I have don't really activate under black light(blues & purple).
Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I didn't factor in the black light thing for this. Maybe I should postpone this challenge, giving everyone time to figure out a black light source???
Let me know your thoughts.
We could just do a quick challenge for Jan. as a sub. Any ideas.
Thanks!

Re: Details/Rules/Prize
You could always make it a black and white or black light challenge. White always reacts to black light so even if you didn't have a black light it would be easy to see the contrast and therefore imagine what it would look like.
I personally don't have any black light reactive face paints other than what Black lights naturally pick up. I do have a big Black light though LOL.

Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I say keep it going. We have some pretty creative people here & I think they'll come up with something. I did a few trial runs that I might submit. I'm not happy with them... but....
Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I second keeping it going... I just picked up a blacklight from Spencer's - the 18" wand for $20. They sell them online - a little one is only $10, and the biggest (42" maybe) is $30. I have a lot of UV paints I didn't even know I had in the rainbow cakes =). The Wolfe and Tag neon rainbow cakes are awesome under blacklights.
Here is a "trial run" that I just did tonight. I didn't do any step-by-steps so I might have to try it again! I had a hard time with the exposure when I had the flash off, but the last pic was a really cool "ghosting" effect =).

Re: Details/Rules/Prize
I vote to keep it going too!! I want to give it a try - I have a blacklight and some neon paints!
Jumpers - my camera has a "natural" setting which "retains natural ambience without flash". I'm thinking this will be the setting which will work best for this, hopefully it works for me. I think yours look awesome!

Re: Details/Rules/Prize
Shoot, January 28th is a huge night at the club next door to my restaurant in downtown McCall and I was going to keep Steamers Restaurant open late and ppf for the night with my neon paints (that I will be purchasing from Metina tonight!) Oh well, wouldn't have time to do a step by step anyway
Wonder if I can borrow Jnjkoz Club People from the first game of tag?

Regular white doesn't react. I was playing with a UV sugar skull, and had to do a flat white base, then UV white over top. However, the lint on my pants reacted just fine! Just FYI!
