Wow, that's great!

I have the paint, brow, ears, and contacts to do the whole meal deal, but still need to make the outfit, get a wig and tail, oh yeah and the model. Very Happy Where'd you get yours? What paints did you use?

Here's a quick Avatar I did at a Doctor's office for Halloween:

I like the face : )
The tail came from a REELMAGIK FX on ebay as did the ears and contacts.
the costume I made myself. All the paint is Diamond FX Metallic light blue and metallic blue, which matches the pre painted tail perfectly!!!
The Diamond FX I got from me at PaintAndGlitter.com : )

Did you really pay $70 for the tail? Wow! It looks like her hair is her own, but where'd you get the extra long braid? That must have been quite an investment.

On the REELMAGIK FX website they had an Avatar paint kit with PAX paint. I've never heard of that. Have you?

You did an amazing job on the costume. The necklaces and loin cloth look perfect.

This is the first avatar I did a long time ago before I even saw the movie. I painted myself, but I photoshopped my eyes Shocked LOL

Love the dots there, Is that bling? That is a great idea!
As for the tail, yep It was 70.00. But the model wanted to be avatar for halloween, so she paid for all the extras. She is also a dental hygienist, so she even made the teeth!

I have never used PAX paint, from what I understand it is a liquid make up used in FX work with a bit a staying power,
Pax Paint is 50/50 Mix of Pro-adhesive or Pros-aide and standard Acrylic paint found at most art stores. and is used to mainly paint foam latex fx pieces. (That is at least what I found out online about it)

Great Avatars. How long did it take to do the full Avatar? She's amazing!
I also like the idea of using the liquid bling for the dots! Great effect!
I've only done & few, on kids & didn't like the results enough for pics. I don't have that Avatar shaped face, so never tried it on me & I can't nail down my teen long enough to give it a decent go. Maybe next Halloween....

The full Avatar was 2 hrs and I was rushed. I would like to have 3. She was on a time line to enter a contest and I had the Photographer in the next room waiting for her as well, so the face got slapped on last in 5 minutes...lol

Super pretty guys. I love how casual you both are about your awesomeness, "this was my first attempt," and "slapped the face on in the last five minutes." Sheesh! There's no way I can't show you my avatar now; that would be like hanging a crayon drawing up next to a Monet!

Just recently I was asked to do a full bodied Avatar on a five yr old boy!
Safe to say I didn't think it was going to go well.... and they already had the tail so I had to match the blue to his tail so he ended up darker then I would have liked...
He was in a costume competition and he won.. $1500 worth of Kung foo lessons.... hahaha
Here he is....Show me your Avatar... Dscn1510
Show me your Avatar... Dscn1511
I should say I only had 1 hour to do this in -
so it's majorly hurried!!!!

That is just too stinking cute.. I LOVE IT...
and to Geekophile , Thanks for the awesomness. : )
but mine was a bit of trial and error, I started off wasting time trying to airbrush a base that was not needed..So I had to rush the face so i does not have the detail I was hoping for, lucky for me I had a great photographer and model that really made it work.... Thanks for the compliment... : )

My avatar was a finalist for the costume contest. It was at the Hard Rock Casino here in Tulsa, We came in 3rd. a little bummed.. It did make me happy when Vince Neil (he was one of the judges) came over and said " You had my vote."
