New Paradise Orange isn't Orange??

Hi,
I recently bought a new 40g paradise orange for my pallet and it's not very orange at all.
I have used the old orange to make a split with yellow for tigers - and the new orange is a shade perfectly in between the yellow and the orange - it's actually closer to the coral then the orange.
I wet it to wake it up and see if it was more vibrant but nope.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
I bought the old orange back in october last year.
I'll try and take a pic today to show you what I'm talking about.
I don't know what to do about it ( if anything) I emailed my supplier but funnily enough she hasn't gotten back to me - and she always does - so now I'm wondering what the .....?

I have to agree with you. I bought some at bodyssey last month and thought the same thing. I used it today at a gig and it took me a minute to find it in my pallete, because it doesn't stand out as orange, more of a coral/brown?

That stinks. Mine is almost gone & I need a new one. I hope someone is selling the older color. Wonder why they changed it?

I hate when they do that..They did the same thing with the metallic sunset orange..it looks horrible!

The only paradise orange I have is in the palette (small 8 colour basic). It isn't anywhere near an orange colour(yucky yellowy now really good for anything) and I got it a couple years ago. The orange in the arc-en-ciel(rainbow) prisma cake is a very nice colour and I was considering getting their orange now but it sounds like I should stick with the snaz, at least for now. Keep us posted...

My orange that I got at Bodyssey, in August, is very orange. Just a tad darker than Snaz orange. Maybe you got Mango instead by accident.. stickers switched? Mango is between orange and yellow.

Mark Reid uses Mango a lot in his tigers/cats.

I have the whole professional kit - it's definatly not mango - although it is closer to that then the orange. It's very frustrating.
I hope Metina sees this thread and can tell us if her orange is dark or not - maybe i can get some of the good stuff from her.

Don't they have a coral color, too?

I noticed the sampler palette is sold out at SillyFarm. I wonder if this why? Maybe to replace it with a new version of the orange? Their pastel palette has been sold out forever it seems. I've been wanting it

metina sells the pastel palette i think... check the forum shop. Can we see a sample of this orange??

I will check on this ladies. I too have been waiting forever for the sampler palette from Paradise. I should get my shipment any day.

You are looking at clockwise - Mango, Coral
Bottom row is Yellow - my yellow and old orange split and the new orange.

I've been using them everyday to paint lions at the zoo.
Funny it's the perfect in between orange and yellow for a lion.
Still it's not what it should be.

Maybe mix mango w/ the new orange for the lion? That might look nice.

Looks tangerine.... Maybe something went wrong with this batch? I know fabrics can be different between dye lots.

I love paradise paints it was my very first palette i purchased but I also ordered a color that was in my original palette but it looked totally different (the black and white are reliable). So now I pretty much use a combo wolfe or snaz their colors seem more consistent. But it was very disappointing I hope your supplier will at least exchange it for you.

It's a nice color though, maybe not the orange ya wanted, but it's a really nice shade!

Did you find out what went on with this or if you could get the old one from anywhere?

They did this with the light pink some time ago, too. I loved the old pink, and when I started to run out I ordered another one, but it was much darker and brighter. Normally that would be great, but a few of the designs I used it for, mixed with other colors, the darker shade didn't look as good.

I just received the pastel palette in the mail today and the pinks are a bit darker then I really need. Still pretty, but I wanted to replace my pink from the Wolfe palette which is a much lighter pink

Guess I need to go back and order another pink now

That blows they must have fired their old color mixer.
