For those that pray, I could use your help
If you pray, please direct your thoughts to my cousin.
I just got word on lunch that he had a massive heart attack at 34 years old. He’s in a forced coma and he's being transferred to a Tampa hospital. He's been put on the donor waitlist (I assume for a heart, not sure if other organs failed or the details on this.)
I don’t have the whole story at this point, but my sister said the doctors think this was brought on from drinking too many Red Bull/Vodkas this weekend. This guy is not a big partier and doesn't use drugs, I'm at a loss about this...
Out of all us cousins, he always seems to have the best head on his shoulders which is why I'm so confused.

Red bull and many other energy drinks are actually very dangerous to most people.

Re: For those that pray, I could use your help
Thanks everyone, no updates yet, I can only assume that my aunt has too much going on to communicate. By the way my cousin's name is Kyle. I just heard from my other cousins (his 2 brothers Scott and Bob) that they are leaving now to drive down since Bob is not able to fly and their sister Katie is in the air now.
I've been reading about Red Bull being so dangerous especially when mixed with alcohol and I'm trying not to get furious that this is offered in bars.
Everyone, thank you for your prayers.

Please keep us updayed. I'm praying for Kyle to have a full & quick recovery & complete healing!
Yes, we teach about Energy Drinks in our house like we do about drugs. I can't believe anyone would offer them w/ alcohol.

I think it's awesome that you even posted this here in the forum. I will certainly rememer your cousin in my prayers and ask my family to pray for him as well. I'm sorry to hear about the news, but with all the prayer I'm sure brighter days are right around the corner.
Thanks for posting this

Re: For those that pray, I could use your help
Here's a post from my cousin Katie:
"We appreciate everyones prayers and support...Even though you aren't here it doesn't mean its not helping thank you soo much...Still keep him in your prayers, he needs it!
Kyle was transferred to tampa general tonight from northside, its the best place for him to be right now for his heart. Though everyone at northside, down to the cleaning staff & the security guards were so kind & caring & gave my mom hugs & told her he was in their prayers.. & his friends are all genuinely great people.. it means so much to know that he's so loved & cared for by all his extended family here"
@Spectrum, that's how I feel about the people on this forum. The members here seem to actually care about what's going on with others...good or bad and are always there with words of encouragement or advice. Okay, okay I'll stop with the mushy gushy stuff now

I'm late to read this but major prayers are going up from Minnesota!!! Caringbridge.org is a great site too for keeping friends and family up to date on medical progress. We've used it many times in our family. My 29 year old brother had to have open heart surgery, as did my 1 year old neice...you don't expect these things in such young people! Praying all goes well and Kyle wakes up soon with a story to tell!

Re: For those that pray, I could use your help
Many thanks to everyone who has been praying, there has been some good news.
Here's the latest update, granted I don't really understand it all, but I've been assured that it's very positive.
"Awesome news!!! Kyles EF (ejection fraction) is up to 55%!! up from 5% on last Monday!! Normal EF is anywhere between 55% to 70% I'm telling you right now...that IS a miracle! Still keep praying they are waking him up slowly right now and are talking about extubating him tonight or tomorrow...keep praying for brain function although that looks fine and his recovery!! Love you Gibby and hope you heard me today!" 7 hours ago

Re: For those that pray, I could use your help
Great news update from my aunt:
"He's awake and yapping away!!! Back to good ol Kyle!! Rest up buddy let's get you outta there and the first sushi roll is on me "
And sad reflection:
"They're just aren't enough words to express my gratitude to all my friends for keeping us in your prayers daily. Being a mom is wonderful and heart wrenching. While Kyle was waking and coming to, I took a walk outside to pray and clear my thoughts. I sat on a bench and across from me was ...another family crying and hugging, I thought I knew their pain but I didn't. Her son didn't make it."
