Ocean view belly art
One more belly art design done. The theme was westcoast and ocean. We have a lot of seaweed, starfish, and beautiful sunsets here. This is the mom's 2nd child and her first is 8 years old. So I've painted a silhouette of the family and their dog on the horizon line. The mom's nickname is 'sunshine'.
I was inspired by the design Margie 'Magic' did awhile back with the sea turtle. Notice how the shape changes dramatically from laying down in the 'zero gravity chair' to standing? It took approx. 2 hours to paint.

Re: Ocean view belly art
Thanks everyone! I really love painting bellies. It's kinda spiritual given the strong emotions surrounding the canvas. This one was really active too.
Criss, I love your sea turtle belly painting too!
Margie, I'm so grateful for this forum and the progress I'm made because of all the inspiration here and support. I haven't even been doing this for a year yet!

Simply Gorgeous.sssssssssss...
I have a question here .... say she pull downs her Tee/Blouse (after the paint had dried) -- - does it means it wont smear the colths...I mea these paints ?
PS: - Pls forgive my ignorance - as I am just too New here who have no knowledge whatever about this beautiful ArtWorks.

Re: Ocean view belly art
Actually most of the time the professional paints I use dry really well and don't smear unless it's really hot (which it rarely is here on the 'wet'coast of Canada). However, when you paint a pregnant belly it's kinda like a built in heater. So during the photoshoot we found her belly smeared occasionally when she touched her belly. The belly art is only meant to last for the photoshoot. If you want it to last a little longer, I'd get a 'barrier' spray to preserve it. Good question, not ignorant at all!
I had a mom go to pick up her kids from school after I painted her and she'd had her photos done. She left her shirt hiked up and pants kinda low so the design was really exposed. Some people thought she had a tshirt with the design on it until they got up close and got surprised! Ha ha.

So does that means..If me and my Bandmates use Professional Top Quality Paints to paint our face…it will still smear … as long as it’s “Hot & we Sweat” as on Stage ?
If this is true – is there anything we can do – to preserve the Artwork till says – we complete our sets of Music…which could be 45 minutes to 90 even 1 and a Half Hour time…….
There is a Concert to be held on the 10th Oct where 2 Bands will be flying in to Singapore and my Band will most likely be a Side-Band who needs to play before they get started.... I hope to have some differentiation and uniqueness if I could paint our Faces.
So I need to get some facts right here….Thank you for sharing
Regards
Eric

Re: Ocean view belly art
Check into some barrier sprays. I think Kryolan makes one. Unless you sweat a lot you'll probably be fine. I know some paints 'melt' faster than others. I'd practice a couple times first and try different things. Maybe 'hairspray'... not sure on the safety on skin aspect, but it can't be too bad as it's intended for the head anyway.
