Re: Post Submissions Here!
Punky - absolutely beautiful! The detail on that eagle is amazing! Love the fireworks.
Re: Post Submissions Here!
grin..... i drew a line with blue, blended it out a little with my brush and then used the tip of a sponge for the final blending, to make it look nice and blended. Does that make sense??
My submission
Inspired by Ms. PJ. Hope you guys like it!
Step 1: Using a sponge, paint a white mask around the eyes
Step 2: Using a 6 Round brush, take your red and do large teardrops all around eyes.
Step 3: Again, using a 6 Round brush, teardrops around the eyes using blue.
Step 4: Do this again with the white, then ending with red, making sure the drops get less and less.
Step 5: Using each color, make dots at the end of each teardrop, to your liking of course!
Step 6: Add glitter and Voila!!
Happy Painting!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Punky, you should try to put in on your face so that you can compete as the rules say face, 1/2 face, mask, cheek, eye design. You can put the eagle on your cheek and the fireworks over your eyes!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Not really but thats my thought...thats the challenge you know? it's easier to put it on a body part where there aren't any parts getting in the way. When you put the design on a face it forces you to figure it out and make it work (oohh felt like heidi klum on that part, lol)
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Well, if that one will be disqualified, then I have a backup. This is one I did on one of my 4-H clowns last weekend. Enjoy!
Materials Used:
BRUSHES - #6 Round, #4 round, #2 round, #0 short liner, Filbert Brush (paradise makeup aq 816)
PAINT - (all DFX) metalic red, metalic blue, black, white.
GLITTER ETC. - Gold liquid bling, silver glitter
Step 1: Using #6 round and white make swirls around the eye
Step 2: Agian, using #6 round, add red to the swirls on one side of the white.
Step 3: Agian, using #6 round, add blue to the swirls on other side of white,
Step 4: Using the #4 round, add teardrops and dots around the swirls and eyes in white
Step 5: Using the #2 round, add white stars around the swirls and teardrops.
Step 6: Using the #0 short liner, outline the dots and stars in black
Step 7: Using the filbert brush (dry) add white shimmer powder around eyes
Step 8: Using the #0 short liner, add black eyeliner to the top lid. Begin painting the lips, 3/4 white, with left part of upper lip blue with the #4 round.
Step 9: Add red stripes and white dots for stars to the lips using the #2 round, and outline in black using the #0 short liner.
Step 10: Add glitter and liquid bling to your heart's content and...
Viola!! The final product!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Thanks! Now for a disclaimer... I would never do that kind of lip design for linework or anything, it takes too long, will wear off, and blue isn't recomended for use around the mouth. I had my adorable model (thanks Carley!) wash the lips off right after we were done. I just thought they gave the design that extra 'oomph!' ya know what I mean?
What I really loved about this design, and the model, was that she came directly from a track meet where whe placed second! So she had that awesome silver medal with the red strap on, with the white tank top, and blue running shorts! She matched the design PERFECTLY! It couldn't have worked out any better. I should add she is quite the little face painer herself, she's my little prodigy, lol.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
Punky, I think you should definitly try the eagle design on a face, it would rock! I already imgained it
Re: Post Submissions Here!
ok, here are a couple more..
For both designs i used a #3 round brush, wolf white, and paradise metalix blue and red. Hope you enjoy!
first you use wolf white and outline three stars on the face
then you fill in the stars
then you outline the stars in red
then you outline the stars in blue
put some blue eyeliner on, add some dots and glitter and you are done!
Next design....
first i drew a triangle over my eyelid in blue
then i used white to make lines and put stars on the blue
then i filled in the red lines, added some dots, and glitter!
It is really hard to paint on myself and I am not to happy with how they turned out, but it is the idea that matters i guess. Hope you all like them.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
You all are so helpful! Many thanks for the great ideas. I'm feeling a little more confident now! Keep 'em comin'!!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Nicely done BK, you have a really good eye for layout on the face.
I would of stuffed those stars if I attempted that on myself! well done!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
awesome! I agree with Tash, I would never have thought to put those stars on in the manner you did. I wouldn't have been brave enough! It's so bold!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
i love the second one!! It makes me want to get into soccer in 2 days just so i can paint myself and go out like that!! (usa vs england saturday)
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Punky,
Just repaint on someone's face. I actually think it will work very well with the elements coming over one eye to the cheek like a rainbow with the eagle ending on the cheek. I am sure this would be very hard to paint on yourself and since that isn't a requirement, just repaint and post your final.
Will this work for all so that this can be included? I think it has a lot of merits myself.
