hey ho everyone!

So here in my city I am finding that we aren't as friendly with each other (catty is a word that is coming to mind these days) I would like to build more of a culture of love and support as is my style and would like to start jams ect.

Does anyone have experience in starting jams? How did you find space, invite people ect. Do you charge for people to come? Do you just paint on each other or invite models?

Any info would be great and much appreciated.

In our city, we have a wonderful clown/face painter/balloon twister named Rose Winkworth who rents a party room once a month and invites clown, balloon twisters, airbrush artists, glitter tattoo artists, magicians and jugglers. Rose does not ask for an entrance fee, although I know there are times that the money comes out of her own pocket.
There is a pot luck and there is a 50/50 draw to help pay for the room, and a door prize donated by one of the invited vendors.
When I have a small jam, I always have a topic... Boy Designs, or Tigers, or Princesses, etc. I supply sheets of craft foam for everyone to practice upon. I supply some small snacks.
Food is always a great lure to jams.
