What happened to this paint?
Hello All
I just got 2 cakes of wolfe white. I used one and after a while it got very very dry, crumbly and flaked off. I kept adding water but it didnt help. I ve used wolfe white before and this didnt happen. I ve always read that it is a good product. I dont know if it a bad batch or if I should switch to a different brand. The lot number on the back of the cakes is #90. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Re: What happened to this paint?
Odd, I've never had that happen. Maybe try adding some glycerine to your spritzer water & see if that helps...
Re: What happened to this paint?
Wolfe is wax based, so the glycerin won't do much.
The Wolfe is not what it used to be.

you mean flaked off your skin? did you put in on too thick, maybe? try thin layers, if needed.

Re: What happened to this paint?
Wolfe White is definitely NOT what it used to be. I really like Cameleon White for my basic white. Global Strong Black is my favourite black for line work... and it does not stain me!
Re: What happened to this paint?
I've settled on DFX white and global strong black for linework. Havent had a flaking issue with wolf, but just dont think its all that its cracked up to be!

Re: What happened to this paint?
Recently Nick Wolfe FPBAConvention made some comments about all the "made in China" brands. Sometime W brand is the best and next FX brand is better and so on. Given they all come from the same manufacturer, it is all the same. Given the control standards the batches vary and that too varies with brand. So no mater the brand all the batches vary. One brand is not really better or worst than the others. It is more about batches than brands.
