Click this link and read the intro and then watch this fast video....Show why real woman can never attain the "beauty" standard shown in the media. You'll love it and I bet you can't watch it just once!

I saw this and thought... Man I need that app!! It is amazing the vast difference in what is reality and what media uses for reality.

My sister in law made a great point...people complain about dolls (like Barbie) but kids know dolls are DOLLS and not real, but pictures that look like REAL people, in magazines, billboards and TV, ARE confusing to girls cause they look like the real thing!

I have never been one to find beauty in cloning a flat plain or exaggerated contrast. to me beauty is in the natural flowing lines. the realistic peeks and valleys of any landscape gives it its own beauty that can not be duplicated. to watch someone alter and mutate the perfect beauty of a finished work of art to suit their own distorted sense of what everyone should see disturbs me. our children are taught to see beauty in everything. we do not bring the main stream media/tv into our home. we rather pick and choose what videos we will play. so they are not bombarded by what other people call beautiful. they must instead decide for them selves what they call art.

I did a paper on this in college. People just couldn't believe that the advertising was influencing how they viewed each other. It's easy to make money off people when they're told there's something wrong with them...Dancing with the Stars, E!, the pop news on Yahoo showing Kim K./Miley Cyrus followed by dieting commercials, ED pharmaceuticals, and news about Abercrombie and Fitch discriminating against anyone average sized and above. It's all just overwhelming to a young, impressionable mind not to mention the self conscious adult mind.

It's very revealing, isn't it? Reminds me of Dove's "Evolution" film that they put out a few years ago:
