Glow parties Empty Glow parties

Post by shandi Fri Sep 27, 2013 8:34 am

I have a friend who is a DJ and they want to start offering Glow Parties and he wants me to give him a price and send some pictures so they can get an idea of what my glow FP looks like.
Well the only issue is I have no pictures and I'd need to order some UV paints other than what I have in my kit. If I get a small black light tube is that good enough for taking the pictures and is there a prefered paint for black light work.
Is the Wolfe small pallet big enough to use for 1or 2 parties? I'd hate to spend 100.00 on paints I may or may not use. I have a few neon rainbow cakes.
I don't want to invest in a lot of paints on a maybe.... however on the other hand offering paintings in UV for glow parties may help my business. I went through all the past posts and got some good info, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas suggestions to make this cost reasonable for me on a maybe.

Dear shandi:
You can purchase a Black Light UV Bulb from WalMart in the light bulb area.
Don't order a lot of UV paints for a test. There are Neon colours in some of your split cakes.

Sometimes, the UV colours are NOT about what you paint....but what you DON'T paint. Case in point...painting the arm black, and painting only the bones of the arm. All that shows will be the bones.
Use your other colours, too, to have dark spaces in your design. Be aware that some UV colours do not appear the same colour in regular light AND in UV light.

I would use a TAG Neon Carnival cake to create a rainbow down the arm, and then design around it with Tribals or Flowers. Something simple enough to show your work without investing more than $20 in the product.

There is a store called Spirit Halloween that has a battery operated UV flashlight that is great for checking your work. The UV flashlight costs about $10US. The UV WalMart flashlight costs about $5US.

If the job is confirmed, then invest in a few Neon face paints.

Thinking of getting this small pallet. Price wise is it better to go this way then to get full containers of each color. I am thinking this is the way to go to begin with, if I get gigs then I can upgrade to bigger sizes with profit from a glow gig. Going to look at Walmart tomorrow, Thanks!
