wolfe neon/day glow?
This is probably a stupid question but are the Wolfe neon and day glow paints one and the same or different?

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
Wolfe Neons are UV... which means they react to ultra violet light/black lights and flouresce... They also really pop in sunlight.
Day glow of refers to the colours that the UV paints are. Back in the 80's we wore Electric Lime, Day glow orange, Hot Pink etc but the colours were not UV reactive, just bright!
When you look at the paints in the pots they do appear to be day glo colours, but are ALSO UV reactive.
Am I making sense??

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
yep! so they ARE one and the same then? good to know. I am looking at the palettes on the silly farm site and they are listed differently..(one as day glow the other as neon)
I thought day glow meant glow in the dark though..
I guess it's just what we called "fluorescent" growing up in the 80's! (ie; neon, day glow, electric, etc)

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
No, day glow is just a way of saying that the colours are REALLY bright. Does not mean UV or "glow in the darK"... actually it is pretty difficult to find make-up that is truly "glow in the dark" - only that crap that comes out at Halloween and I would hesitate to put that on anyone.
If a make-up is called day glow/glo... I would double check to make sure it is UV reactive too. Wolfe is.

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
last halloween I found some Wolfe brand glow in the dark grease pencils at the local walmart. I don't use them for the public, but my kids love em.

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
have anybody seen a kind of uv, you can't see in normal light, only uv? I sometimes get requested for it, but I have only seen it in a "spy pen" and that didn't last long.
Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
The DFX UV White is ALMOST invisible... hardly shows at all in regular light.

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
Have some of that. But it depend on how light a person are, if you cant see it
Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
Ah... yes... Well, you could paint them with DFX white, then wash... the UV reactive part is still there, with no trace of the paint colour!!

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
phoenix Ink make an airbrush glow in the dark paint that is completely invisible without the black light.. and it glows in dark... but in normal light you can't see it at all!!
I know this is an old thread, but....

Hi Shannon,
I think I remember reading that there was a UV paint that was clear (or almost clear), that you could use to "paint over" your design and make it UV reactive. Was that the DFX white? If so, is Metina selling it?

Re: wolfe neon/day glow?
Well...you could paint over any colour with the DFX UV/Neon White BUT... it is going to be white in black light. And it would "muddy" up the undercoat as it does have a bit of a white pigment to it.
