I just can't come up with something original!!

This is the very first time that I put a picture of me on the Internet. I'm still a beginner and I hope you're not too strict with me. The painting is so much fun. So here is my version of an elegant zombie.

I don't photograph a step by step of my work but I did however have a little video clip of me getting one of the zombies ready.

Video shows me painting and getting the girls ready for the shoot.

This is a clip of me photographing one of the models on location in an abandoned school (with permission, of course!)







I did the costuming, hair, make-up and photography on this photo shoot. I organized the entire shoot. I had about 700 images out of this photo shoot so it was hard to choose just 3. I started painting people because I couldn't find anyone to collaborate with so I started to do it on my own. I have found that the cheap white body paint they sell at wal-mart during Halloween works REALLY awesome for zombies. I found it to work better to get the effects I was looking for. I have all kinds of shoot ideas/possibilities floating in my head.

finally my entry sugar skull zombie

Discussed this challenge yesterday with Saskia Theunissen, who made the great headpiece for my sugar skull and we came up with some great ideas!
Hope we can make it in time, because this saturday we're having a huge show where we will show everything new for next carnaval (feb 2014). Dresses, jackets, hats, headpieces, crazy curls, glasses and of course facepaint (I will be doing that!).
I'm nervous, but looking forward to it very much!
Hope to find some time next week to come up with something!

Hey Everyone it's Mika! I know i've been MIA but I've been super busy with my day job, my 4 year old, and everything in between! A sprained ankle slowed me down so while I was home resting my ankle this weekend I decided to participate in this contest. <3 From the Virgin Islands!
