New to Balloon Twisting
So I have finally decided to add balloon twisting after mulling it over for awhile. I have just bought a cheap bag of balloons and a pump at walmart to get the feel for it before investing. Let me just say, I love it! it is so much more fun than I had expected and I didn't even pop a single one. (that was my biggest fear) Here are a few that I am able to replicate pretty well. Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks Barb, it looks like they are in NC. I found Brody's in Chicago but chose to go with a company my husband has a wholesale account with already. I am able to get the assorted bags of 100 for $5.80 a bag and they ship right with his other supplies for his teddy bear gift company. I can't wait to try them...

Re: New to Balloon Twisting
Thanks guys! I got my balloons, I have 1 gig today where I am supposed to do just swords and flowers but I am going to practice some at my first gig. Love the qualatex...they are so much easier to twist and even the pump is better. Very excited!
Re: New to Balloon Twisting
have a great day Erica...you will be awesome...let us know how your day went.
Re: New to Balloon Twisting
Hi Erica, I am curious how much you charge the event for added balloon twisting when you are just starting. My son is so excited and learned about 10 simple but effective designs. He wants me to start advertising him.
Re: New to Balloon Twisting
Jody when Im doing balloons as an add on...I paint the first hour then I make the balloons...this is for like a birthday party and I have a 2 hour min.. but when you add an extra entertainer or extra help..I could not help you there but perry might be able to help on that one.
Re: New to Balloon Twisting
WOW, they look GREAT!!! I've always had a fascination with balloon twisting....never considered adding it to my business...let me know how it goes for you
Might be cool to make a balloon or two for the slower parties where all the kids just want something on their hand.........lol, one party I did, they just wanted smiley faces and peace signs and hearts...so simple....

Re: New to Balloon Twisting
I used to twist about 12 years ago when I worked for a party store, and just got back into it about a month ago for my daughter's birthday party (which is how I started face painting as well)
A good resource for beginners is www.balloon-animals.com, you can click on his free youtube videos on the top right. Even though I used to be really good at it, I still classify myself as a beginner, so I watch a lot of his videos.
There is also a forum (similar to this one) which I never noticed before, so I just joined that as well.
Once you learn the basic twists you are good to go, the hardest part for me is memorizing all the designs - but I think my brain is on overload too, because I am learning balloon designs and trying to learn face painting at the same time!
