Re: Post Away!
Thank you!
I must say there is some tough competition here. All the designs are wonderful.
I haven't been on the forum much lately and thought: "What better way is there than to jump right back in by entering this months' challenge?"

Re: Post Away!
That was a hell of a plunge redStar great job! I love how you placed the pot of gold in the middle of the forehead/rainbow rather than at the bottom.
Re: Post Away!
I wish I had done the "steps" for this one I just did for my St. Patty's Day board for my gig I have, but didn't think of it till too late! But sharing anyway, even though it can't be in the contest!
Re: Post Away!
Here is my entry. It's been a while. I'm glad I happened to do a step by step of this.
Step 1: Use a green one stroke to add a petal to the forehead and dramatic swoops to the eyes and under the eyes.
Step 2: Use a gold or metallic split to add another tier of petals and some color at the corners of the eyes.
Step 3: Add one last tier of petals to the top of the forehead.
Step 4: Using dark green, paint in a Celtic knot and some long tear drops around the eyes.
Step 5: Use black and white to add outlines and highlights to the knot.
Step 6: Embellish as desired with black and white.
I used Tag leaf yellow one stroke, Tag old gold/copper split, Wolfe black and white, a 3/4" flat and a #3 round.

Thank you! Your meermaids are pretty neat, too.
I know how you feel. Everytime we share our work, we make ourselves vulnerable but we also need to remember, that we are all at different points of our journey. Some have decades of experience, others just a couple of month, for those, that have not been doing it for too long, it can be intimidating to share their work, when clearly others are better. And for those that have been doing it for a while, it can be easy to forget how their work was when they started out. But in the end what matters is that we are proud of our progress. And there is always the possibility that what you think is not your best work, might for other people be the best work they have seen.
