Repotting from round TAG containers Empty Repotting from round TAG containers

Post by Willoughby Sun Feb 24, 2013 8:31 am

Hi everyone,

I have pretty much all the TAG colors, including metallics and I've done a few splits to take up less space, but am still wondering if I should consider repotting the lot. Has anyone here repotted TAG colors from the round containers? Is it basically also just a case of warming in the microwave, scraping out and squishing into something else?
Any ideas for the 'something' they would need to be squished into? I've seen some of the Snazaroo palettes... but am wondering how much paint they fill and if there are other ideas for those of us who are in Europe and don't have access to shops like Michaels Razz

Thanks in advance!

Willoughby

Dear Willowby:
I have repotted all of my paints into jewellry trays from Amazon.com. I have one with 18 holes where I keep my most used colors: Wolfe White, Wolfe Black, Red, Pearl or Glitter White, Pearl Black, TAG Neon Carnival, Havana Sunset, Havana Sunset Pearl, TAG Bubblegum, etc. I have two 32 slot trays that I have laid out the rest of my kit with yellow/orange/pink/red in one tray, and, purple/blue/green/browns in another. I have been consolidating my kit lately and I have put Velcro tabs in a few of the tray wells with corresponding Velcro on my water bottle, favorite glitters, and small bottle of hand sanitizer.

I slice the paint with an Exacto blade or a scalpel, and then lift out the paint with a tiny pâté knife that I have stolen from my family. They have not noticed it missing. They also have not noticed that I have replaced them all with a practice head. Bwahahahaha. Sorry. I digress. I get easily distracted.

I do not microwave my paint. If I want it to look smoother... I lay a baby wipe down over the pan and press it smooth with the back of a spoon. I have tried to organize it so all the metallics are on one side, neons in the middle and regular colors on the other side. I believe Whitney Myers from wmeventservices has a link on a thread regarding where she got the trays.

Happy Repotting Paint!
I was worried at the beginning that the paints were going to scream as I slice into their perfect, pristine surfaces. They were very quiet. I got addicted to repotting all my paint.

I repot into old square Tag containers, when they are not available I find the stacking bead containers from Wal mart
