Hi from New Jersey!

Hi, my name is Mary Kay and my business is Happy Faces by Mary Kay. I am located in Hudson County, in northeast New Jersey. My business is new and I have had a few paying jobs. I am doing a charity event this weekend for March of Dimes.
I started painting this past summer at our weekly farmer's market. It started as our club offering face painting as a service to the market, so they could advertise children's activities, and our club could distribute membership information. I only charged $1 per face, which was a donation to our scholarship fund. I was pretty shaky when I started, but improved week-by-week.
By the fall, people were asking if I was available for parties and such. From there my business was born. The first thing I did was invest on professional supplies. (what an improvement over the halloween makeup we used) I also invested in some advertising.
I have also been spending hours on the internet watching tutorials and studying everything I can find on face painting and marketing my FP business.
I'd love to meet other FP'ers in my area, and network or jam. I am sure I still have alot to learn.

You will find the thread I was taking about. And, I believe you can find out how to post pictures under FAQ or New To Face Painting.
I load my pictures onto PhotoBucket and post the images to this column via PhotoBucket image codes. I am sure there are easier ways to post pictures. I am not very computer literate and that was the magic way I learned. I am worried I will blow up the computer if I push the wrong button. My husband and children have dragged me kicking and screaming into this century. They have given me an iPhone and an iPad. Really, I use my iPad to play Plants vs. Zombies. Now, I have another use.... I discovered an App called Paper. I use Paper to doodle face painting ideas, colour combos, doodling.
