Meanwhile on The Jersey Shore

I have been fairly out of touch due to the storms here on the Jersey Shore. I am grateful our home was fine and my family is fine. That being said, there are so many families still in need of help just minutes from where I live and work. The coverage from Seaside Heights has been especially heart breaking because I spent many beautiful summer days twisting balloons on that boardwalk, as well as attending ClownFest this past September.

This Sunday I volunteered with the Red Cross Disaster Relief distribution event where thousands of people drove their cars through a huge parking lot in Atlantic City. Hundreds of volunteers formed two lanes to help speed up the process where items such as diapers, water, food, clean up kits, rakes, shovels, blankets, and other personal items were given to each car. I also took part in a walk on the famous Atlantic City boardwalk in support of getting tourists back to the commercial areas that are in need of tourists to return and support our local economy. Many workers are still having their hours cut dramatically due to the drop in business.
