Re: My New Princess Costume!
Thanks for all the encouragement and ideas ladies! Lol Nina and Sandie, I'm sure you could pull off a princess! I think anyone can be a princess. I think it's more of a gender qualifier, not age haha! I did check out the Halo Heaven sale but everything I liked they were out of stock on. Oh well, I'm sure it won't be the last sale.
Re: My New Princess Costume!
I wear costumes ALL the time. Anyone can be a fairy, princess, elf, clown (costumes, not skill set) movie star, gangster, etc. Just do it. Put on the costume and there you are. Around here, it's Doe's Costume Closet. I'm constantly outfitting family and friends for events. And you don't have to be a specific character, just a type... It's fun letting your imagination go wild. (as I design costumes for my cast of 50 on stage characters)
So, go for it. Do it, it's immensely freeing AND try on the different personalities you can channel when you put on their outfits. You might find sometime insanely fun to be during parties....

Re: My New Princess Costume!
Ok so I think I want to be a character lol... Hmmm my party next week is carnival themed and I refuse to do clown due to a true phobia lol.... Any Ideas??
Re: My New Princess Costume!
Just thought I'd say this for some who are thinking of becoming a character...
At a party or event geared for this type of costume, it's great. However, at public events, some kids will not want to approach you. While dressing like a princess delights many youngsters, it also drives away others. Really young boys don't mind...older boys don't want to be caught dead getting painted by a princess or fairy. And some children are just afraid, period.
Just some food for thought.

Re: My New Princess Costume!
Yea, I kind of thought about that, that's why I usually don't paint my face anymore either. Sometimes just a small eye design but definitely no full face stuff! I have already scared a few kids lol. I'm thinking this will be just an "upsell" for the girls parties. Spa parties and tea parties for the younger girls are very common here and I have been asked if I can be a princess for those. But now that you mention it I wonder if my cyberlox will have the same effect?
Re: My New Princess Costume!
Miss Ronnie I do believe you are a wise face painter lol.. I will stick to my apron and flowers in my hair. I found the apron I made facinates the kids, I used acrylic and fabric paint on it so the paint looks wet...
Re: My New Princess Costume!
This is one of the cutest clown costumes I know of, called "Lulu tutu" by Forum. It's in all the internet costume stores. If you add one layer of extra tulle in front, and a ruffle at the top bodice, it would be modest enough to go somewhere in (if you have the figure for it, lol). It doesn't need elaborate makeup either to look cute, just rosey cheeks and lips and maybe some nice sparkle eyes and a great wig or hairdo
Re: My New Princess Costume!
That is super cute! I think I could pull it off but it would still label me a clown which...I cant do. Wonder if it could be turned into a fairy if I add wings? Hmmm
