Hi from South Mississippi

Hi! I'm from South Mississippi, about 45 minutes from New Orleans.

I was asked to do facepainting for a benefit back in July and fell in love with it! I've been researching and practicing ever since. So far, I've done a Halloween party, a birthday party and a street fair. I know I have a loooooong ways to go to get as good as all of you, but I'm practicing every day and hopefully will come along fast! I'm enjoying all the information here. Thanks so much!

I named the business after my daughter, Savannah, since she is helping me and practicing herself to be able to paint soon. She is 13 and naturally talented so I'm sure she will come along much faster than I will! We named the business Savannah's Smiles

I just put up a quick page on my regular business website but I plan on getting a separate domain name for the facepainting when I have time. I work the regular business during the week (drafting house plans and blueprints for new homes) so the facepainting will be a more creative fun thing to do with my daughter.

Lisa, that is just too crazy! I can't believe we both do house plans in "everyday" life! How weird is that??!

I didn't think there were too many facepainters around here. I was at a street fair last week and I found out there were 4 facepainters and I was so disappointed, but when my hubby went around to look at their booths, he found out they were all just doing it with craft paint and just doing little hearts on the cheek and stuff and charging $1. I was so afraid when they saw my display board and the prices, which I thought were reasonable (cheeks $3, half-face $5, full-face $8 ) they would never pay it, but once my line started, I didn't get a break until 3pm!

I charge $5, $10, and $15 at festivals in this area and have a line all day.
In the end, quality beats out the cheap and freebie craft paint users.
