Hey Ya'll from South Mississippi

Two days ago, I wrote this really long intro and right before I hit send I somehow deleted it! I was tired so I just went to bed instead of rewriting it. That's my intro, I'm a long winded goof, haha! So let's try this again....

I actually joined the forum a few months ago. But with the holidays, some birthdays and a super slow computer, I just didn't get on here much. I'm a busy at home mom of three young boys, 7yrs, 2yrs & 1yr. I am also the president of a local art and craft association. The title is a bit glorified, we've only been around for three years so we are still small. I've always been crafty and can do many different art forms. My one weekness, painting, lol!! So with each of our craft shows I had a booth. I also had a craft room in my house but it is now lovingly refered to as the play room, I sooo got the boot!! So if you do the math there, when I started with that position I only had one to run after. Now that things are certainly different, I was looking for something that wouldn't take up so much of my time at home with actually making the craft. Stay with me, I'm a talker!! So I was talking(lol, told ya with a lady at our church and she mentioned that a cousin of hers, in another state started facepainting and she was doing very well at it. My first thought was that was cheesy. I had only seen the cheek art stuff and was not impressed! But after a few days, I couldn't get that off my mind. Off to the internet I went to do some research. When I saw the stuff you talented people could do, I was excited as a kid in a candy store!! I couldn't beleive all this amazing stuff! I knew I wasn't all that great at painting but had to at least give it a try. Went to michael's and found one of those small snaz pallets and went to playing. Found out that I wasn't as bad as I thought I would be. Now don't get me wrong, NO WHERE near what the pros do, but hey, I'm just starting. So now totally hooked!! I have started practicing and volunteering at my oldest little boy's school(did ya follow that?lol). I've done several of the sporting events and some of his holiday class parties. I've had tons of fun doing it and the kids really enjoy it as well. I'm slower than that stupid computer that I mentioned earlier so I REALLY need practice with that! I got the green light to go to LA Fete from the hubster, yay! So I know I'll get some great direction and lessons from there. Can't wait to get to know all of you and share ideas and tips, well eventually, lol! Sorry I really am long winded, but not in the omg will that girl ever shut up kinda way, but in the that was fun and interesting and that girl's a trip kinda way. That's what I think anyway, lol!!

I have no problem laughing at myself, so I have to share....I literally have tears of joy swelling up and this goofy grin noone could slap off after the Awesome kitty remark!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't tell you how much that means to me. Thank you, thank you, Thank you!! I think I was just crowned MISS AMERICA!!! HAHA!! Granted you can't see it real well, so there is junk not so great on there, but the overall, yay!! There are so many people around here that hasn't really seen facepainting so they are complementary, but to get it from one of you, OMGosh!!! Ok, just had to release that, lol!! Again, thanks sooo much!!!!!
