'I was painted by...' stickers?
I am doing my first PPF event tomorrow (not new to painting, I just don't do PPF) to help raise funds for my daughters school. Anyhow, looking at it as a marketing opportunity, I was thinking of printing some 'I was painted by...' stickers. It won't be cheap, probably 20ish cents a sticker, so I don't want to do it if it isn't effective. Anyone find this useful? I have cards, postcards, and my shirt already. Anything else I should be doing?
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
I have some stickers like that ... I only really planned to use them at events where there were other painters working, but I NEVER remember to actually put them on the kids. I also feel a little bit awkward by pushing my self promoting stuff onto the kids when they are paying me already to do the work. I got mine from vistaprint... just labels that happen to have my picture and "Perry Noia the Clown painted my face!" on them.
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
Since I'm painting for free, I have no qualms self-promoting. I also have two volunteers to help with line control, ticket taking, etc. so I can give that job to one of them so I won't forget. I have the round labels and an extra ink cartridge already so I think that I'm going to do it.
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
Thanks for always giving me perspective Perry. Even though I'm not exactly new, I feel like I don't have many people local to bounce ideas off of who understand the children's entertainment biz so this really helps
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
I have had several people telling me that I SHOULD be using them... I have even gotten to the point of putting the sheets sitting on top of my cash box, they just never seem to actually make it onto the children.
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
I buy them from vistaprint and cut them into individual stickers. I hand one to each child before they get out of my chair.

Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
I print my own on envelope labels, really cheap $2 gets me 240 stickers. They have my company name, www, phone number AND removal notes. Every child gets stickered and most mums remove it and put it on thenselves or their bag so the child does not lose or destroy it. Easy to promote, "Here is your sticker so mummy knows how to wash it off", and there goes another walking billboard!

Might be a stupid question, but what do you mean by PPF?
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
hahaha Perry, I do the SAME thing! I have the stickers and carry them, always forget to use them even if I have them out. I agree, it's only important if there are other painters present, like at a festival, so people will look for YOU if they see some kids face they like. Otherwise, the business cards out are the best marketing!
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
I have stickers that I hand out at large events/festival & fairs. The problem with them is that they don't really stay stuck to the kids' clothing. So, now I cut them up and just hand them out. If kids are still like my kid was, they hang on to anything free they get at these types of events. My original intent was so that kids who wore my face designs could advertise for me as they walk around. But I think that when someone sees something they want at a large event they will usually ask the person where they got it.... and if it's good enough, people WILL ask.

That is not a silly question.
Thanks, I guessed it woud be something like that, but I just wondered what the letters stood for. Do you have a short term for the hourly rate as well???
I already figuered out that FPF means FacePaintForum
Re: 'I was painted by...' stickers?
There are more like that creabella, like for example "dh" took me a couple of minutes to figure out that it means "dear husband"...
