Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
I love the little kitty so cute.
I had a hard time this Halloween in the sense of life got in the way of plans.
1. the school teacher decided that it was a good time to have an impropmtu chat about my son after school - which I normally don't mind but....you know
2. had a last minute booking for someone. and then
3. sister in law cousins an nieces and nephews turned up
4 . phone ringing non stop to do with a fight between who is going trick or treating with my eldest.
5 . and for some reason people seem to think that halloween is a great reminder to enquire about face painting.
6 . and someone explained trick or treating to my now almost three year old who was originally going to bed but now she knew was not missing out - she ended up being a butterfly I had painted earlier for a playgroup thing with a witch costume - no matter what anyone else thought she was a scary witch - with a butterfly face paint
and as it is not really haloweeny didn't post that
so
I only got half finished photos of my eldest daughter before the chaos really grew and completley mised the final shots for which we had pants a better background and had planed on messing around with the smoke machine.also cut a few corners. and got no photos of my other children as I just had to fit in the in laws send them off and met them later. and paint a client and basically leave to find my children and nieces.
decided that next year I am going to keep my kids home get them done so that I have time for everyone elses issues. (of course nothing will happen then, but that would be nice too)
But my kids had a great time and I sopose that is what really counts
so my eldest daugter hadnt finished the arms, teeth or puss and have had to crop out the legs as she was in her undies at that time The only reason I got the shots was my husband said to grab some quick for my own referance e.g. learning curb

Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
No costume for me. But my son wanted to be batman and all the stores were out so he bought a black morphsuit and wore his batman boxer shorts over them and bought a batman mask. His girlfriend wanted to be kind of a batgirl or cat woman but had no budget to buy anything so she wore black jeans, black boots and black "pleather" bustier and a black leather jacket. I tried to paint a cat-eye shaped mask on her but she could not stop giggling, moving, talking, you-name-it....(typical 16 year old girl!) so her mask grew bigger by the minute until finally it ended up becoming more of a Mardi Gras mask. put some purple streaks with glitter in her hair, too. They were so cute together but I forgot to take a picture when they left so I snapped this one of her when they came home and before she washed the masked off.
She is such a beautiful girl!!!

All of these are great, but Sue....wow, that looks gory! Love it! All that gore always looks even creepier on a kid too, lol.
Lacey, you all look great! That little kitty is so cute
Miss Ronnie, Love the mask and it's lacey edge. What a pretty girl!

Elantaura- WOW that costume is SCARY! Awesome job!
Halloweens do get busy that's for sure hehe, but if your kids had fun then it was a success!
Miss Ronnie- I LOVE that mask you did. So detailed and you're right, she's a beautiful girl. I bet your son and her looked adorable together.

Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
aww thanks guys but it is what she wanted she is trying to find a reason to be a zombie at school too - lol... she loves zombies so she pushes me a little harder every year to up it.
the funniest part of the evening for me was we ran out of cat food after it all. and I took the zombie child to the local supermarket with me, she stalked a guy who had finished work to the counter at crawl, he was laughing so hard he bought her a few lollies.
@ Lacey by the way the cat costume did you make that, i really like it alot I love black and pink together - in australia at any rate you don't tend to see them together in costumes untill you get to the teens. Halloween not so big here. if you made it awesome, if you bought it I'm jelous we really don't get too much in terms of variety.
@miss Ronnie I love the detail around the mask. It so nice your son is dating someone you like - I am dreading this for future - sigh.
and out of curiosity with the morphsuits how easy is it to see. I have been wondering that.

Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
All the kids are adorable..and that zombie is awesome! i just painted my face and my kids..money was tight these past few weeks, and my younger kids wanted carttoons i cant do..my oldest wanted to be a zombie..his was the best, but not as good as Sue's!!
ha, while i was making my face, my hubby called to inform me that it was the last day to get his registration sticker and some girl stopped me to let me know she didn't feel so out of place dressed up.
the blue kid is some guy from dragon ball z, then there is pikachu and the last one is some digimom!! I had to redo my face because i tried to add more to the 1st one and ended up messing it up!

Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
very cool Lexi! Love the one with the teeth on the side of the face, sooo weird, lol
Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
Awesome costumes and awesome paintings!! My 4 yr old was Optimus Prime and 2 yr old Mickey Mouse. We had a pretty cool Optimus mask but I figured it wouldn't stay on long so I painted his face too. Mickey's face didn't last even until the start of trick-or-treating, but they had a blast!

Who B- Love that zombie look, the Pig tails Look amazing with the whole design! The veins coming out from the eyes is a great detail.
Gretchen- OK that Optimus has to be the best optimus costume i have ever seen. My son would have gone nutzoid over that! Did you make it? Micky is too cute for words! Look at that adorable face! Very nice job

Thanks, Lacey! Yes, I did make it. Mostly cardboard! I did find Optimus gloves online and got the mask on clearance for $5 at Target this summer. But the main body and boots are painted cardboard. Got the front "grill" at a thrift store and painted it chrome. It was really fun to make! I made Mickey too, except for the ear headband and gloves.

Re: Show your costumes!!Pic Heavey
Alright here is mine--
I am trying out my first clown costume also---Only one little 3 year old was scared of me, but she is scared of a lot of things. Most kids would stare, smile, and wave.
Adults would do a double take and smile.
So I guess the clown outfit works for now (it will work even better if I could loose a couple pounds--those pants are kind of tight!) I got the tights, wig and hat at wal-mart (that is the only store we have with 200 miles that sells clown stuff), the shorts from a thrift store, and the jacket was my dads from the 70's. I love it!!
Where do you get shoes from?
and my side kick
Corpes Bride. We didn't want to ruin my daughters nice white dress so we put dirty lace over it. I didn't get pictures till the end of the noght-cause my battery was dead--so they look a little worse for the wear by now. I just can't get the face right---why do my faces look better in person then on film?!
My daughters Head Start (Pre-school) consideres Halloween a "religious" holiday, which I think is stupid, so they were only allowed to dress up as something they wanted to be when they grew up. She was a butterfly for the church party, and a cowgirl for school.
I love seeing the halloween pictures! Thanks everyone for posting---very fun
