Is it just me, or is the world weird this week??

Actually the past couple of weeks it seems like so much s___t has hit the fan for so many--and I even see a lack of the understanding diplomacy & patience here as well. Kinda like "the love of many has waxed cold". I don't mean that as a criticism, but an observation. I have personally gone through the meat grinder lately...and it seems like every time I turn around a dear one is airing a similar story!

I was diagnosed breast cancer on the 4th of july and going through some rough weather at this moment.
I didn't post this yet on the forum because there are 'stories' which are far more hurting than mine. Like Brian Wolfe, or loosing loved relatives, sick children etc.
My heart reaches out for all those and I'm thinking of them, hoping everything's going to be all right.
Only this sunday I posted my bad news on my Facebook and wuppie Waggon and was blasted away by all the sweet, kind reactions from fellow facepainters I (most of them) never have met in real live! It felt like taking a warm bath!!
So yes... There is a lot of s..t going around, but I can still feel the care of other people!
I hope things are gong a little bit better now for you?!

lizzie, my dear girl, I wish you would have shared sooner. I look at my little piddly situations and think; how trivial my stupid bad luck is. You are immediately being lifted in prayer and I hope we can be of some comfort to you through all that is ahead of you. I sincerely wish that this forum had a transporter that could take us to each other and give real hugs and comfort instead of cyber hugs and comfort.

I know I matter, just like everybody else, it's just that so many people are even worse...
Rhonda, there are many people in my real life, and most of them are a great help to me too. But not all of them! I discovered that distance doesn't always matter, but it does matter what people are giving you. Most of you are far far away from me, but are touching my heart more than people IRL.
I feel 'at home' at this forum!
So please... Keep me laughing at your posts and many others, it really brings little silver linings on dark cloudy days!!

Lizzie ,,what awful news to receive,,It;s funny how we keep to ourselves alot because everyone else has stuff going on..I included have had a real rough year,,one thing after another,,I have had friends not want to unload on me and I have been horrified that they would feel that way..I would love to be there for them and comfort them,,because thats what friends do.
I always feel blessed to be a part of my friends lives and everything that goes with it....That is life..up and down....

I have been amazed that it is so across the board with majors for so many many people, kinda wondering about it--Yeah, got some personal stuff as well, but floored at the volumes with everybody. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!!

It has been crazy lately. I think the heat makes people want to eat each other!!!

Lizzie--Just finished "One Minute Cure" by Madison Cavanaugh (got on amazon). I am a 28 year cancer survivor (without the medical interventions that were recommended--an abortion, a hysterectomy, chemo & radiation).
Hang in there girl, & remember to go into treatment as YOU feel led. "According to your faith be it unto you!" (Matthew 9.29)

Lizzie, how sweet thinking of others. We all care about Brian Wolfe, but there are plenty of great, caring people who will also keep you in their prayers & blow your socks off w/humor on a tough day.

Lizzie, I am sending positive thoughts to you. Anniel, I also see a shift in some people.

Here's an article that I think applies to the issues some of you have brought up. We all have unique personalities and experiences which shape our beliefs and practices. This article is not solely about Chick-fil-A but more our tolerance and acceptance of one another. I especially like the part about how messy conversations lead eventually to tolerance and understanding.

Yes, it's been weird for me. A friend lost her 32 year old husband to a massive heart attack. They have two little girls. I'm heartbroken for them. The news about Brian Wolfe is tough to take too. I'm so thankful for what I have (and have asked my hubby to up his life insurance.)
