Ideal Table Empty Ideal Table

Post by OtterGirl Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:43 pm

My husband got me this table as a gift. I can't stress how much I love it! It goes from kiddie table to full counter height for standing and painting. My old table made my back ache after an hour or two from stooping over to get supplies. Plus, this table folds in half so you can carry it easily from gig to gig. Hope this helps someone.

Did you find it locally or did he order it. I think I might want one for gigs.

Do you have Big Lots stores out there, Denise? They have a "tailgate" table that functions the same way... although probably a little more flimsy, but I believe it costs under $30.00

I've seen those at Walmart, if that's any help. My partner and I used to use that one because she was much taller than me and we could both use it without any problem. I gave it to her when I moved because I now work out of my fatmax. I'm very short Smile

I lifted a similar one at Walmart and it was HEAVY. This one seems more waffled so hopefully lighter?

I'll have to stop by Big Lots and look at theirs. I don't need too sturdy. I just need something to hold my two scrapbook cases.

We bought ours at Academy about 4 years ago. It's pretty light. I don't know if they still have them or not, but you could try if you have one near you. Our one beef with it was, at the highest height, it was not super sturdy and would sway if someone touched it. We would kick the legs out as far as possible and put our purses and scrapbook roller under the table to keep the legs from moving too much. It was good enough for quick parties though.

I'd probably use it at parties because I've got the camp kitchen for fairs. Just thinking about downsizing my kit to a scrapbook roller or one of those sewing cases. Something I could carry if I needed to.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this. My husband got mine at the Lifetime store in Riverdale. I know you can order them online too. I haven't had any issues with stability, and I prefer it to using my fat max as a table because I am tall and prefer to paint standing up. If I'm doing a long event and do want to sit down, I just get someone to help me lower the table to the right height. I like having the options.

I have one of those. I use it at counter height and stand when I paint. Definitely worth it.

Hi just returned from Walmart and saw some tables from 34.99-39.99. They are thinner than those from Costco/SAMs and even the ones from Walmart that I usually see. The thickest part is 1/2 inch (the edges). These do fold in half, come in square, 4 ft rectangle, and 5 ft rectangle. The height is adjustable 19"-24"and 29". Doesn't give the weight, but not heavy at all and comes with a nice handle. Oh and 24" deep. Brand is mainstays.

I have this one. I love it! I got mine at Kmart. It is about 3.5 feet which is a great size because it it just big enough for all of my stuff without taking up too much space and it has a handle to carry it when it is folded. I also love the adjustable legs because at some gigs I sit and at others I use my Earth tall directors chair.

We make our own custom stands and my painting stand is counter height. I've used it for 10 years, that slight bend to reach down to a low table will catch up to you. Looks like a good table for painters who stand.

If you have a Sam's Club membership (and, oh do I wish I did about now!) you can get this online for about half price.

I use the Sam's club one Zoe just posted above. I love it! Totally portable and I only use it at the tallest setting.
