Jessica, why are your rates so low? You may not be the most experienced face painter, but your rates seem very low. Even if you're just doing this as a hobby, you deserve to get paid what you're worth!

I think the site looks fine, it's easy to read, easy to navigate and you have some nice pictures... but I have to agree, you are going to put yourself out of business at those prices. No one using professional products (which anyone getting paid should be) should get less than $50/hr AT LEAST.

My rates will be up to $50/hr soon, I've been offering those prices to get immediate business and experience. At first I thought even that was too much because I couldn't fathom paying it myself lol.

The only thing I would add to your site is more mentions of your phone number and location... your location on here says "Ontario" but on your website it only says "Georgetown" ... I'm in Ontario and I don't even know where Georgetown, Ontario is, but that's besides the point... there are many, many places named Georgetown and you should narrow yours down. Also, more mentions of it (like on your index/home page) will help with Google putting you into a search for "face painter georgetown ontario" ... be sure those key words are all mentioned on your pages as much as possible.

As I said before, the page looks nice, legible and easy to navigate. Good job You might want to label your prices as an "introductory rate" so people realize that it will be going up.

Ah, thanks, that makes sense. I have Ontario on a couple pages but I guess it has to be consistent. I just found a muuuuch better layout so if you could possibly check it out again I'd appreciate it!

Also, has anyone ever considered gift certificates? I ordered some because I had a lot of clients wanting to donate my services to parents who really can't afford much. I don't have the info on the site yet because I'm still up in the air about making it public.

Any ideas?

I got gift certificates from VistaPrint, very affordable, colourful and professional looking. I number them in the top corner by hand. I haven't had any purchased at this point but I often donate them to charity auctions.

That's what I was thinking too I love Vistaprint, I can't even begin to tell you how much free promotional material I've ordered from them!
