A friend I know has an electric battery operated balloon pump that hangs on her waist.. She can't remember where she bought it >.< Does anyone have something similar? How long does the battery last? Where did you buy it? How much did it cost?

The reason I'm interested is because I have a 4 hour job coming up with only balloon twisting... the purple hand pump can be really hard on my arms. Thanks for your help!!! Smile

Hello,
I'm interested too.
a lot of my friends love this one http://www.filbertpump.com/
( I don't have it but I try ) It's not an electric pump ( better no ? ) but need only one way per balloon and you can have one hand free to roll up the balloon. The cost is expensive with postage and taxes in France... I just think that it's better if it can do bi-action like the little purple one, others in USA ?

My husband makes these. He sells them on ebay. They are way cheaper than majiloon and he makes a couple different versions. He customizes the hose colors to your costume or just favorite color. Go to drdrumtastickenterainment.com or search for it on ebay under the-gold-rose. The name of it is "The Best Portable Electric Balloon Pump".

Filbert is your best bet! [b]No batteries to worry about, quiet, great to use and holds blown up balloons. weighs about 1 or 2 pounds. Comes in a bunch of colors to match up with your attire. and it only costs about $100. Peter is the nicest guy too. The pump is light, and is very well made.

I have a balloon bouy, and a Majiloon, but I use the filbert.

Now, I'm off to see "the best portable electric balloon pump"

The filbert basically is a takeoff from the T. Myers pump that originated this type of no battery-non electric high volume pump over 20 years a go. Myers is wonderful and can be found on line. I have owned two over the years and they are outstanding. The filbert we purchased two months ago and it is also wonderful...no need for dual action since one pump down and the balloon is fully inflated. Positive of filbert is it weights hardly anything like 2.5 lbs., the Myers is much heavier...but that also means it is heavier duty and will last for years. Majiloon, I have two and they are good...but HEAVY on your body and build up heat, but I use one every Monday night in a restaurant. I have the "contractor model" so some aren't as heavy as it is. Not familiar with Tracalla's suggestion. Good luck, making choices in equipment purchases is difficult and exciting. The public is fascinated with Myer's and Filbert types because they are quiet and they can't quite figure out how they work without electric. sunny

Tracalla--I burned out the circuit board on both of my Majiloons--or so the repair shop told me...tried and tried to get in touch with Majiloon for repairs, with no response (I know, I know--Season!). But I ordered from you in e-bay, got it timely enough & used it tonight for 3 hours straight of line work. It easily matched my majiloon as a workhorse, but didn't overheat! (And it was reasonable priced!) I recommend it!

OK MAJOR CHANGE OF OPINION You can see just above I posted my love of my Majiloon. When I posted my original one had died and I bought a second on the thought Majiloon would honor my request on me sending 1st one back for repair at my cost of course. Ordered the second one because I HAD to have a pump to work, when he never answered any requests on how to go about repairs, I gave up. Now my second one used 7 months 3 hours one night a week at a restaurant DIED...I am extremely upset, the guy comes across at conventions as quite the businessman, but does not back it up. A lot of money tied up in pumps that I'm going to see if someone local can figure out what is wrong.
Anniel, circuit board??? please if you have info let me know. Still stand by the Filbert. Would love to repair my Majiloon however would never spend money with this man again. The old "used car salesman" persona fits DJ very well. Really sad when he is tied up with people promoting conventions and others will learn the hard way.

I'm still pretty happy with my $3 ketchup pumps for now because they are SMALL and don't require constant battery charges or changes. BUT if I ever decide to get a larger pump, it would be a filbert or mac pump I'm sure. Of course, I'd have to relearn how to pump my balloons because right now I count my pumps for my different sculptures rather than looking at the size of the tail.

I am leaning towrd your opinion,skj--I think DJ has bit off more than he is chewing. Didn't get an answer to 3 e-mails I sent, nor could the repair store I took it to. Right now it's a buyer beware thing, although I am so pleased with a working Majiloon. (In his defense, last time I got it repaired, I also had to bug him to find out what I owed him to pay it...)

About the repair...The more I thought about it, the less I could figure where the circuit board was and asked the repair shop to show me. I only see compressors, wires and switches...Oddly, the tech was unavailable, and the sales guy knew nothing. That being said, they work again, (even though I was told they didn't).

I would see if Tracella husband might be willing to take a look at yours--or a REPUTABLE (not like the one I thought was...) electronics/vaccuum repair store?

Tracalla, I have a question for you. I ordered your husband's pump. used it at a gig (3 hours line work--switched to a hand pump a for the 5-10 minutesas the battery was getting low.) I absolutely loved it-- Compared to my majiloons as far as output, a real workhorse. Came home, recharged for the afternoon, and it glitched on me the next gig---just piddled through the lst 10 balloons & then I had to switch pups. I figured I hadn't charged it enough, maybe my kids switched off the light switch or something. So next time I charged a good 12 hours, and the same thing happened to me yesterday? Argh! Can you help me with trouble-shooting? (I was so impressed with the quality of this little guy...)
