Red Paint problems?

Since I am a new new newbie , I don't have experience with many different kinds of paints. The ones I have started with are Snazaroo, just because thats what I found at my craft store. does anyone have problems with the red paint staining the skin? I painted my Daughters face last night a full lady bug and the paint was only on her face for a short period of time, yet was hard to remove. this morning I still see it on her. Makes me afraid to do any full face painting, especially with the red!

Snazaroo Red??? Never had any issues.

How did you try to remove it? Soap, water and a washcloth should deal with it completely...

The only light staining I have ever gotten with any snazaroo is from the teal. And it really wasn't a big deal. I really like the red. Don't be afraid to use it on others, it is completely safe. Like Shannon said, soap ,water and a cloth should do the trick. Keep trying, and happy painting.

Thanks for the replies. I have been trying to save time while practicing on my kids so I have just been using baby wipes to wipe off and do another design. I tried today with just the soap and water and worked so much better!

Yeah... baby wipes are okay for touchups, not for removing paint.

I have skin that stains something awful (also super sensitive, can't take alot of scrubbing) and no matter what the brand this is what I've found works best:

1) wet washcloth, lather it up with a bit of gentle soap (I use huggies tearless)
2) Rub all the spots with paint untill your face is a big mess (ussually black lol)
3) use the other half of the washcloth and wipe it all off.
4) rinse out the cloth and one more wipe to get any soap off.

Voila, I've had no more staining problems at all when I do it this way

baby shampoo is also good because it won't hurt their eyes if you need to wash close to their eyes. I use only Snazaroo and the only colour I've ever had trouble with slight staining is the green. Even then, put a little moisturizer or baby oil on it for a minute and wash it again. It should wash right off. If you have trouble getting those colours off, don't go near Wolfe black! It'll drive you insane!

The reason that baby wipes are discouraged for significant paint/makeup removal is 1) the wiping motion has a tendency to PUSH the paint/makeup into the pores instead of drawing it out...hence the appearance of staining, and 2) it is very possible that a skin reaction could occur when the chenicals in the makeup and the wipes are mixed...add to that lightly abraided skin from the wiping and you have a bad reaction.

If the staining still occurs despite hand/soft cloth washing instead of baby wipes, I'd suggest laying down a sheer base (Kryolan IF Silver or Pearl Metalllic or any other sheer white) first. The base will fill up the pores and keep the colored pigment out...then wash as usual to remove.

I think it washes only slightly worse than the other colors of Snazaroo. I also badly washes snazaroo dark and middle green. It is necessary to use more pressure or washed 2x.
